Job Description

You’ve got what it takes: you break down a problem until it becomes simple, you learn fast, and you want the things you build to actually be used.

As a Junior Low-code Developer, you’ll work on smart solutions used by thousands of customers every day. You’ll help develop our app and the systems behind it, from connecting home batteries and charging stations to giving customers insight into their energy use. That way, you help make energy use smarter and more affordable.

No OutSystems experience needed. You’ll get to know the platform, work alongside experienced developers and get more and more room to work independently.

What will you do?

You’ll work on new features for our app and help improve existing systems. Together with a team of experienced developers, you’ll build solutions that let customers easily connect, manage and use their smart devices.

Your work includes:

  • Building flows that let customers add, connect and manage devices such as heat pumps and solar panels in our app.

  • Designing screens that show customers at a glance how their devices are performing and what they deliver.

  • Building integrations with back-end systems and external platforms to read data from and control devices.

  • Developing back-office functionality that helps colleagues support new services.

  • Contributing to architecture and technical solutions. Even as a junior, you’ll have room to share your ideas.

What does your work look like?

Imagine we want to connect a home battery from a new brand to our platform. Together with your colleagues, you figure out how the integration works, help build it and make sure customers can easily use and manage the battery.

Then you test the new feature with the team and look at what can still be improved. A few weeks later, thousands of customers see the result on their phones.

In your first few months, you’ll learn OutSystems and work closely with experienced low-code and .NET developers. Step by step, you’ll take on more responsibility and start working independently on parts of our platform.

Who are you?

You enjoy solving technical problems and learning new things. You like thinking about how something can be simpler or smarter, and you care that what you build works well for the user. You can work independently, but you also enjoy working together.

You also recognise yourself in the following:

  • You have a completed higher education degree (HBO or university) in a technical or analytical field, such as Computer Science, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Business IT & Management, Industrial Engineering & Management, Econometrics or a similar field.

  • You have strong analytical skills and like to think in solutions.

  • You think from the customer’s perspective and translate their needs into a simple, user-friendly app.

  • You’re interested in software development and enjoy getting to know new technologies.

  • You like taking ownership and work well in a team. A scale-up with pace and freedom suits you.

  • You’re fluent in Dutch and have a good command of English.

  • You live in the Netherlands (strict requirement), preferably in the Utrecht region, so you can regularly work together at the office.

What do we offer?

An experienced team that listens. Your opinion matters from day one, even as a junior. On top of that, we offer:

  • A salary that matches your knowledge and experience.

  • Room to develop yourself and grow within NextEnergy.

  • 25 vacation days based on full-time employment.

  • Bucket List Day: one extra day off each year to tick something off your bucket list.

  • Fresh lunch every day, free. The canteen is also the place to get to know colleagues from other teams.

  • Free sports through Urban Sports Club.

  • Travel expenses covered from 10 km, with an NS Business Card or mileage reimbursement. You choose how you travel.

  • Drinks and team outings.

  • Know someone who would fit in here too? Refer a colleague and earn a bonus of up to €2,000.

About NextEnergy

At NextEnergy, we believe energy can be smarter, fairer and cheaper. With our dynamic energy contracts, customers benefit from current energy prices. Lots of sun or wind? Then electricity is often cheaper, and customers can benefit from that straight away.

But we do more than just supply energy. With smart solutions such as home batteries and automatic charging of electric cars, we help customers get more control over their energy use and costs.

We’re growing fast and work on new ideas and solutions every day. We do this together, with a team that wants to move forward and where there’s room for your own initiative.
