Role Description TSL is recruiting a QA Engineer to support quality assurance and quality control across complex construction projects in the Netherlands, particularly data centres and technically demanding buildings. This site-based role ensures that works, materials and installations are inspected, verified and documented against approved drawings, specifications, applicable standards and client requirements. Working closely with Construction, Engineering, MEP, Commissioning, HSE and subcontractor teams, you will implement project quality processes, coordinate inspections and test records, challenge non-conforming work and drive timely close-out of defects. You will promote a “Right First Time” culture, preventing quality issues wherever possible and resolving them before they affect programme milestones, commissioning or handover. Key Responsibilities Support the development and implementation of Project Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), inspection checklists and quality control procedures aligned with contract requirements. Review approved drawings, specifications, method statements and technical submittals; confirm that inspection criteria and acceptance requirements are understood before work starts. Coordinate and carry out site inspections of civil, structural, architectural and MEP works, within the scope of your technical competence, checking materials, installations and workmanship. Manage inspection requests, hold and witness points, first-off inspections and approved benchmarks; obtain the required sign-offs before works are covered up or progress. Participate in quality walks, internal and subcontractor audits and lessons-learned reviews; document findings and verify completion of follow-up actions. Maintain accurate, auditable digital quality records, including inspection evidence, approvals, photographs, NCR logs and quality status reports in agreed project systems. Monitor inspection results, recurring defects and close-out trends; flag emerging quality risks and recommend practical preventive measures to project teams. Verify quality records and inspection readiness ahead of MEP pre-commissioning and system testing. Compile handover quality records, including test certificates, as-built drawings, O&M documents and defect close-out evidence. Agree quality benchmarks and resolve technical issues with clients, consultants, designers and subcontractors. Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge & Experience 3+ years of QA/QC or site engineering experience on construction or engineering projects; equivalent experience considered. Main-contractor or specialist-subcontractor experience; exposure to data centres, MEP or mission-critical facilities is advantageous. A degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Construction or Quality Management, or equivalent experience. Hands-on experience with Project Quality Plans, ITPs, site inspections, hold/witness points and auditable quality sign-offs. Experience managing NCRs, defect lists, root-cause reviews and corrective/preventive actions through to closure. Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, material approvals, certificates and test records. Knowledge of ISO 9001 principles and relevant Dutch rules (Bbl and NEN/EN standards) is advantageous. Competence with digital inspection/document-control tools and Microsoft Office; familiarity with commissioning readiness is beneficial. Strong reporting, communication and attention to detail; VCA VOL certification (or willingness to obtain it) is desirable. The Mindset We Value Ownership: You take inspections and corrective actions through to verified closure. Right First Time: You check requirements early and prevent defects rather than relying on rework. Sound judgement: You challenge deviations constructively and escalate risks when approval is needed. Relationships: You build trust with engineers, contractors and clients without compromising standards. Improvement focus: You turn inspection findings, data and lessons learned into better project delivery. Health, Safety and Wellbeing At TSL, safety is everyone's responsibility. All employees are expected to actively contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy working environment by complying with company policies, project safety requirements, and applicable legislation.
