Join an innovative high-tech manufacturing organization that develops and produces complex, precision-engineered products for a highly regulated industry. Production takes place in low-volume, high-complexity environments where product quality, consistency, and traceability are critical. As a Production Engineer – Components & Materials, you will be responsible for managing the technical lifecycle of components and materials, ensuring continuity of supply, compliance with regulations, and product performance throughout the manufacturing process. You will work within a multidisciplinary Production Engineering team and collaborate closely with Quality, Manufacturing, Product Engineering, and Procurement colleagues. What you will do: You take ownership of everything related to our components, materials, and their suppliers, from initial selection to final validation. You conduct technical assessments of new and existing suppliers, including reviewing samples, performing First Article Inspections, and handling the technical aspects of audits. You own the incoming inspection instructions and measurement methods, serving as the primary point of contact for the incoming inspection team. You ensure that specifications, bills of materials (BOMs), and traceability data within our PDM and ERP systems remain accurate and aligned. You ensure our material data is up to date (REACH, RoHS, PFAS) and identify substitutes for substances we no longer wish to use. You work in close collaboration with the Product Engineer, Manufacturing Engineers, the QA Manager, and the Procurement department What you bring: A bachelor’s degree (HBO) in mechanical engineering, industrial product design, mechatronics, or a similar field. At least 3 years of experience with components, supplier quality, or production engineering—ideally within the medical device industry or another regulated sector. Experience with technical drawings, GD&T, metrology, and change management processes. Familiarity with ISO 13485, REACH, and RoHS; knowledge of biocompatibility is a plus. A precise, organized approach to your work, with the confidence to engage effectively with suppliers. Strong proficiency in written and spoken English; Dutch language skills are an advantage.
