Role Description The HSE Advisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Groningen, responsible for supporting safe and compliant roofing and cladding operations. This position involves conducting site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits to ensure adherence to company policies and legal requirements. The HSE Advisor will develop and implement health, safety, and environmental procedures, as well as maintain and update relevant documentation and reports. Daily tasks include delivering toolbox talks, training team members on safe work practices, and promoting a proactive safety culture across all project sites. The role also includes incident investigation, recommending corrective actions, and collaborating with project managers and supervisors to continuously improve HSE performance. Qualifications Strong knowledge of Health & Safety and Occupational Health principles, with experience applying them in construction or industrial environments. Experience in Environment Health and Safety (EHS), including understanding of environmental regulations and best practices for sustainable site operations. Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH or equivalent HSE qualification, demonstrating competence in safety management systems. Auditing skills for conducting internal HSE audits, inspections, and compliance checks, and for preparing clear, actionable reports. Ability to develop and deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness programs to diverse site teams. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence safe behaviors and collaborate with project stakeholders. Experience in incident investigation, root-cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple sites or projects. Comfort working on active construction sites and adherence to all relevant PPE and safety requirements.

Core Responsibilities

Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and audits to support safe, legally compliant roofing and cladding operations. Develop HSE procedures and documentation, deliver safety training, investigate incidents, recommend corrective actions, and work with project teams to improve safety performance.

Requirements

Requires HSE experience in construction or industrial environments, knowledge of environmental regulations, and a relevant qualification such as NEBOSH or equivalent. Candidates should have auditing, training, incident investigation, communication, and organizational skills, and be comfortable working on active construction sites while following PPE requirements.
