Job Description

Data Engineer Groenlo, Netherlands 32 - 38 hrs € 4.000 - € 5.500 Hybrid What are you going to do? We are building a smart, scalable data pipeline that helps dairy farmers improve their operations through computer vision. It starts with cameras and sensors on the farm and extends to processing in the cloud, where raw data is turned into practical insights. This technology helps farmers work more efficiently and monitor the welfare of their animals. As a Data Engineer, you design and build the data flows that make this solution possible. You work across the entire pipeline: from capturing and processing data at the edge to storing and processing it in the cloud and making it available to end users. You build robust real-time and batch pipelines and work closely with ML and computer vision engineers to make data flows efficient, resilient, and traceable. Together with your team, you develop and validate minimum viable products (MVPs) that customers use in practice. Start your application Your responsibilities Design, build, and improve robust pipelines for real-time and batch processing in both edge and cloud environments. Build reliable data flows from cameras and embedded sensors, ensuring that data is usable and traceable for training and inference. Work with ML engineers to prepare models for production and deploy them at the edge. Your team As a Data Engineer, you join our Expansion team: a team of market experts and technical specialists in computer vision, data engineering, and data science. Together, you develop and validate entirely new concepts that could complement our existing portfolio of solutions. That means building something that works, testing it in practice, learning from what works and what does not, and using those insights to guide further development. The team’s approach centers on testing assumptions early, learning quickly, and adjusting along the way. Our offer What's in it for you? We have the ambition and the opportunity to shape the future. And we need people with the drive to turn that into meaningful impact. You get the chance to contribute to something truly unique, alongside more than 1,000 driven and like-minded colleagues. From day one, you help us fulfill our purpose: Technology for Life. The way you grow, take initiative, and deliver impact helps bring that purpose to life. We shape what’s next. Together. Compensation. Matching your knowledge and experience. The range for this role is € 4000 - € 5500 gross per month based on full-time employment (38 hours). Financial benefits. A 13th month, a solid pension plan, profit sharing, and the opportunity to become a Nedap shareholder. Space and trust. You coordinate your own working hours and vacation days in consultation with your colleagues to achieve a healthy work-life balance. Professional challenge. Space to explore ideas, work on challenging projects, and collaborate with more than 1,000 driven and like-minded colleagues. Development opportunities. You take the lead in your personal and professional growth within Nedap. All terms of employment Required Skills You are a Data Engineer who enjoys building things and taking ownership of more than one part of the data pipeline. You feel at home in an environment where you can experiment and not everything is defined yet. You enjoy working with others to discover what works. You look beyond the code: you want to understand the problem you are solving, make thoughtful technical choices, and collaborate with other engineers to improve ideas. You are curious about what technology can make possible, enjoy experimenting, and learn quickly from both successful and unsuccessful approaches. Must haves: Data Engineering: You have experience with or a solid foundation in data engineering and are enthusiastic about everything related to data. You find it interesting to collect, process, and make data available, and you have strong Python skills for building data and ETL pipelines. Experience with embedded systems or resource-constrained environments. Cloud: You are familiar with cloud services (e.g. Blob Storage, Event Hubs, AKS, ACR). Nice to have: Containerization: You have experience with Docker and deploying containerized applications Knowledge of video data and processing tools. Familiarity with machine learning workflows and/or edge inference. Good to know: You are available for 32-38 hours. Hybrid (remote) working is common within Nedap and together with your team you will arrange your own working hours for a good work-life balance. You are preferably present at our campus in Groenlo at least twice a week. Get in touch! Interested in the vacancy Data Engineer or curious about what it’s like to work at Nedap?
