Job Description

Account Executive – Europe Full-time · Based in the Netherlands or France · Hybrid / Remote ABOUT THE COMPANY BioScout is an AgTech company on a mission to enable the early detection and effective management of airborne diseases on farms worldwide. BioScout automates crop disease and particulate detection through sophisticated, patent-protected biological sensor technology. We provide farmers with real-time, field-based airborne disease data. This data enables them to map, prevent, and manage disease outbreaks on farms, massively improving crop yields and quality while reducing their chemical usage and spending. We are a team of passionate scientists, agronomists, and engineers who want to revolutionise airborne disease management and prevent crop loss. Our world-first technology positively impacts food systems, the environment, and farmers' bottom lines. If the idea of selling something that genuinely changes how farmers protect their crops captures your interest, this is the role for you. YOUR MISSION We are entering our most ambitious growth phase yet, and Western Europe is at the heart of it. With product-market fit established, strong customer retention, and a live pipeline of qualified opportunities across the region, we are ready to put fuel on the fire. As our dedicated Europe Account Executive, your job is to scale what's already working. You'll own the full sales cycle across Western Europe, converting qualified leads into long-term partnerships through deep discovery conversations, business case development, closing, and ongoing relationship management. You'll report to our Chief Revenue Officer, who will pass warm leads from international events, trade shows, and partner relationships directly to you. You'll partner closely with lead generation resources and marketing to run outbound campaigns and turn event leads into a strong pipeline. This is a role for someone who has built a region before and knows what it takes. You'll be trusted to run it your way. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Build and manage targeted prospect lists across Western Europe, primarily the Netherlands, Germany, France, and Spain, focusing on growers, agribusinesses, and farm owner-operators across BioScout's key crop verticals (including grapes, potatoes, onions, and berries) • Manage and advance pipeline opportunities, partnering with lead generation while running targeted account outreach across LinkedIn, email, and direct calls • Run the full sales cycle: qualify leads, conduct discovery, present the business case, navigate buying committees, and close • Attend industry events, trade shows, and agricultural conferences across Europe (about one week of travel per month, planned in advance by region) • Conduct strategic on-farm and distributor visits to build relationships and deepen conversations with key prospects and European partners • Maintain disciplined CRM records and accurate pipeline reporting • Partner with the marketing team to share field feedback on messaging, buyer language, and what is resonating • Represent BioScout confidently with owner-operators and C-suite decision-makers ABOUT YOU You're a natural at opening doors. Cold calling doesn't faze you; if anything, you'd rather start a conversation than wait for one to come to you. You can tell the difference between a deal that's real and one that's noise, and you spend your time accordingly. You're patient enough to manage a long sales cycle with discipline, and organised enough to keep a large, active pipeline moving without losing sight of where each deal stands. You know how to earn trust in the field. Agriculture is a relationship industry and farmers read people quickly. You don't need to have spent your career in AgTech, but you need to be the kind of person who can sit on a farm, speak plainly, ask the right questions, and make someone feel genuinely understood. You're honest and direct. You don't oversell and you don't make promises you can't keep. You've carried a number before and you know what it takes to hit it without being managed closely. You've worked in a fast-moving environment and you understand what that means in practice: systems aren't always built, priorities shift, and no one's handing you a playbook. You build what you need and keep moving. You take ownership of outcomes, including the ones that don't go to plan. YOUR EXPERIENCE Required • A strong track record across the full B2B sales cycle, with real depth in outbound-led pipeline generation • Background in agriculture, agribusiness, capital equipment or hardware sales, or a related field where buying cycles are long and buyers are business owners (e.g. environmental technology, life sciences, industrial risk management) • Experience selling to owner-operators and C-suite decision-makers, including CFOs, where the buyer's own money is on the line • Comfortable owning sales cycles of 2 to 6 months and the deal management discipline they require • Willing and able to travel across agricultural regions in Western Europe, approximately one week per month • Based in the Netherlands (e.g. Utrecht/Amsterdam area) or France (e.g. Lille), within easy reach of a major airport • Full working rights in the EU Preferred • A personal or professional connection to agriculture or the land • Experience selling a hardware-plus-software solution rather than pure SaaS • Science or technology literacy: able to hold a credible conversation about data, disease, and crop protection without needing to be an expert • Prior experience in a scaling startup environment REMUNERATION AND PERKS • Competitive base salary plus an uncapped commission structure, focused on new business and designed to reward strong performers well beyond base • All travel expenses fully covered • Hybrid working from our European office or remote in Western Europe • A diverse, mission-driven team that cares deeply about what it's building and the people it's building it with • Regular team events and a genuinely collaborative culture HOW TO APPLY Apply via LinkedIn with your CV and a short note on a region or territory you've built. Applications are reviewed as they arrive, so we encourage you to apply early.
