Duration: 12 months renewable contract Workload: Full time hours Setup: Dutch PAYE Hourly Rate: 51€ + 8% holiday allowance per hour worked Sponsorship: Not Provided Location: Rotterdam (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) Our client is seeking an experienced IT Solutions Architect to design and govern end-to-end technology solutions across complex digital and enterprise initiatives, ensuring alignment with architecture standards, security requirements, and strategic business objectives. Key Responsibilities: Design end-to-end solution architectures across applications, data, integration, infrastructure, and security domains. Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and supportable technical solutions. Lead architecture governance activities, design reviews, and technical workshops. Assess SaaS platforms, cloud services, and vendor solutions against enterprise architecture standards. Produce architecture deliverables including HLDs, TADs, ADRs, integration designs, and architecture board presentations. Drive reuse of reference architectures, patterns, and architectural building blocks. Design solutions leveraging Microsoft Azure services, integration platforms, API-led architectures, and cloud-native patterns. Collaborate with project managers, delivery teams, security teams, and business stakeholders across multiple initiatives. Must-Have Skills: Proven experience as a Solution Architect within complex enterprise environments. Strong Microsoft Azure architecture and solution design expertise. Experience with APIs, event-driven architectures, messaging, and integration platforms. Knowledge of cloud-native architectures, platform services, containers, security, and governance. Experience producing architecture documentation and supporting architecture review boards. Understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF. Experience designing AI-enabled solutions, including GenAI, AI agents, model integration, security, and compliance considerations. Nice-to-Have: Azure Machine Learning, Microsoft Copilot, or Microsoft Foundry experience. Knowledge of AVEVA, IFS, or Cognite platforms. Experience with Bizzdesign HOPEX. ITIL, TOGAF, CISSP, SAFe, Azure Architect, or Enterprise Architecture certifications. Experience working within Agile and DevOps delivery environments.

Core Responsibilities

Design and govern end-to-end architectures across applications, data, integration, infrastructure, and security, ensuring solutions meet enterprise standards and business objectives. Lead architecture reviews and workshops, assess platforms and vendors, produce architecture documentation, and promote reusable patterns across initiatives.

Requirements

Candidates need proven solution architecture experience in complex enterprise environments, strong Microsoft Azure expertise, and knowledge of APIs, integration, cloud-native services, security, and architecture governance. They should be experienced in architecture documentation and review boards, understand frameworks such as TOGAF, and have experience designing AI-enabled solutions with security and compliance considerations.
