Job Description
Agent in Amsterdam EuroAmerican Financial Advisors (EAFA) EuroAmerican Financial Advisors (EAFA) is seeking an exceptional individual to represent and help grow our cross-border wealth advisory business in Amsterdam. EAFA specializes in advising Americans and internationally connected families living in Europe on the complexities created when U.S. and European financial systems intersect. We are looking for someone who is already deeply connected within the American and international community in Amsterdam and understands the financial issues faced by high-net-worth Americans living abroad. The Role The Agent will be responsible primarily for business development, education, relationship building, and prospect qualification in the Amsterdam market. The role will include: Developing relationships with American expatriates and high-net-worth families in Amsterdam and throughout the Netherlands. Identifying prospective clients who may benefit from EAFA’s cross-border advisory and investment-management services. Building referral relationships with U.S. and French tax professionals, attorneys, relocation specialists, business organizations and other professionals serving Americans in the Netherlands. Organizing and hosting educational seminars, webinars, dinners and other events focused on financial issues affecting Americans living in the Netherlands. Conducting initial prospect screening and gathering relevant information before introducing qualified prospects to an EAFA financial advisor. Developing EAFA’s presence within American, expatriate and international professional communities in Amsterdam. Maintaining relationships with prospective clients and professional referral partners. Helping EAFA identify the financial concerns and emerging issues most relevant to Americans living in the Netherlands. The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who brings credibility and genuine relationships, not simply traditional sales experience. The ideal candidate will: Be based in Amsterdam and well established within the American expatriate community. Have a strong existing network of American professionals, executives, entrepreneurs and high-net-worth families. Ideally be a high-net-worth individual themselves and comfortable interacting with clients whose investable assets may range from approximately €1 million to €10 million+. Have a sophisticated understanding of the issues Americans encounter when living in the Netherlands and Europe. Understand concepts such as U.S. taxation of citizens abroad, FATCA, PFICs, European investment restrictions, U.S. retirement accounts, cross-border estate considerations and the challenges of managing U.S. and European assets. Be an excellent communicator and comfortable speaking publicly at seminars and webinars. Be capable of developing relationships with senior professionals and centers of influence. Have strong judgment, discretion and professionalism. Understand clearly the distinction between educating a prospect about cross-border issues and providing regulated financial advice. Prior experience in wealth management, private banking, accounting, law, financial services or serving the American expatriate community would be highly valuable, but an exceptional professional with the right network and background may be equally compelling. What Success Looks Like The successful candidate will become a recognized representative of EAFA within the American community in Amsterdam. Rather than relying on traditional cold prospecting, the objective is to build a local ecosystem around EAFA through education, professional relationships and community involvement. A typical month might include hosting an educational webinar for Americans in the Netherlands, meeting with U.S./French tax professionals and attorneys, attending American-community events, speaking with prospective clients, screening potential EAFA relationships and introducing qualified families to EAFA’s advisory team. The right individual should ultimately become one of EAFA’s principal relationship builders in the Netherlands while allowing EAFA’s licensed advisory professionals to focus on providing the underlying financial and investment advice. About EuroAmerican Financial Advisors EuroAmerican Financial Advisors is a European regulated financial advisory firm specializing in the unique financial needs of Americans living in Europe.
