Here’s what you’ll be doing At Arcus, we connect global supply markets with customer demand every day. As an Category Buyer, you play a critical role in ensuring products are available when customers need them while also providing rapid purchasing support for urgent or special customer requirements. This is a hands-on procurement role with two equally important responsibilities: Managing the operational purchasing process from purchase order to delivery Supporting Sales with fast-sourcing solutions for urgent and non-standard customer demands Supporting Sales with urgent or special customer requests: Obtaining quotations and delivery commitments within tight timeframes Sourcing non-portfolio or special products requested by customers Managing purchase orders end-to-end in our ERP system from placing the order to hand-over to logistics team Maintaining accurate procurement information in the ERP system Identifying and resolving stock gaps in collaboration with Category Managers Processing supplier non-conformance reports together with Category Managers This is you You have the drive to continuously develop yourself and want to keep getting better at what you do. Experience is nice, but we find your motivation to quickly master new knowledge and skills even more important. You are open to further expanding your technical insight and are willing to invest in this. You naturally take on responsibility and don’t wait for instructions: you’re proactive and have a true hands-on mindset. See work that needs doing? Then you get right to it. At the same time, you enjoy collaborating with your procurement colleagues and internal stakeholders, because you know that together you achieve the best results. Additionally, you’re available for at least 32 hours per week. What you bring You have experience in operational purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or customer-driven sourcing You enjoy taking ownership and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Your strong communication skills enable you to work across departments and countries You are a natural born problem solver with a sense of urgency, a high level of service orientation and good analytical skills Excellent communication skills to establish and maintain contact with suppliers in Asia and Europe, and you have a good command of Dutch and English. Core Responsibilities

Manage operational purchasing end-to-end, from placing purchase orders in the ERP system through delivery and handover to logistics, while maintaining accurate procurement information. Support Sales with urgent and non-standard sourcing requests, obtain supplier quotations and delivery commitments, and work with Category Managers to resolve stock gaps and supplier non-conformances.

Requirements

Candidates should have experience in operational purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or customer-driven sourcing, and be able to manage multiple priorities with ownership and urgency. Strong communication, problem-solving, analytical, and service skills are required, along with the ability to communicate with suppliers in Asia and Europe and a good command of Dutch and English.
