Junior Technical Sales (Benelux based)
Key Skills
Job Description
Combine your technical expertise with commercial success! Do you have a background in Engineering or experience with Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE)? Are you based in the Benelux, energetic, curious, and commercially driven? Would you like to do more than just work with technology? Are you excited by the idea of opening doors, creating opportunities, and making the first move towards building relationships with new customers? Then this is your opportunity to combine engineering with business! Who are we? In Summa Engineering is a software partner of Cadence / MSC Software. Using advanced simulation software, we help companies develop innovative products faster, more safely, and more sustainably. Think of Philips, optimizing electric shavers to reduce skin irritation, or organizations such as ESA and DAF Trucks, using simulation to solve complex engineering challenges. We are looking for a Junior Technical Sales professional – a true hunter who understands our technology and has the ambition to bring new customers on board. You don’t need to be an experienced salesperson. You’ll become part of an enthusiastic team of technical specialists and sales professionals who will help you develop both your technical expertise and your sales skills. What matters most to us? Your technical curiosity, willingness to take initiative, and enthusiasm for opening doors that haven’t been opened yet. What will you do? Your mission? Find new customers, build relationships, and create business opportunities. You’ll focus on companies across the Benelux that can benefit from engineering and simulation software to improve their product development processes. Hunt for new business: Proactively identify interesting companies, new contacts, and potential business opportunities. Reach out to potential customers: Take the initiative to connect with prospects through phone calls, emails, and LinkedIn. Rather than waiting for opportunities to come to you, you’ll go out and create them. Speak the language of engineers: Connect with engineers, R&D specialists, and other technical professionals. Ask questions, uncover customer needs, and identify challenges. Thanks to your technical background, you’ll understand their world and recognize where our software can add value. Create business opportunities: Qualify leads and schedule meetings for our Account Managers and Technical Consultants. Get out there: Attend trade shows, seminars, and networking events to meet new people and build your professional network. Learn and grow: Work closely with experienced sales colleagues, Marketing, and technical specialists to further develop campaigns and lead generation activities. You’ll have the freedom to take initiative, experiment with new ideas, and gradually build your own customer portfolio with increasing independence. What makes you an InSummist? We’re not looking for a seasoned sales professional. We’re looking for an ambitious technical professional with a commercial mindset. Someone who wants to make the move from engineering into business, or combine technical knowledge and sales from the very start of their career. Does this sound like you? You are based in the Benelux! You have completed an education in Engineering, such as Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, or a similar technical field. You have an interest in engineering and simulation software. Experience with CAE tools, such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), or similar engineering applications, is a strong advantage. You enjoy understanding technical challenges and exploring how companies can overcome them. You are proactive, curious, and comfortable approaching new people. You aren’t afraid to pick up the phone, even when you don’t know the person on the other end. You see rejection as part of the process, not as a setback. You are motivated by achieving goals, creating opportunities, and seeing the results of your own efforts. You are a confident communicator who can explain technical topics clearly. You have a good command of Dutch and English. Knowledge of French is a plus. You are willing to travel within the Benelux. Why is this an exciting next step for you? Technology that makes an impact: Work with advanced simulation software used to solve challenging engineering problems. Hands-on learning: Receive personal guidance from experienced colleagues while developing your knowledge of both the technology and the sales profession. Room to grow: Build your career towards roles such as Account Manager, Technical Sales Specialist, or Business Development Manager. Freedom to take ownership: Get the opportunity to explore new markets, connect with companies, and create your own business opportunities. A team you’ll feel at home with: Work alongside technical experts and commercially minded colleagues in an informal environment with open communication, plenty of humor, and a healthy dose of nerdiness. An attractive compensation package: Enjoy a competitive salary, an attractive commission scheme, a company lease car or mobility budget, laptop, phone, pension plan, and 27–30 days of annual leave. Fun beyond work: From team outings and social drinks to events and knowledge-sharing sessions, there’s plenty happening outside the day-to-day work. Ready to combine engineering with business? You don’t need to know everything from day one. What matters to us is that you have a solid technical foundation, the confidence to take initiative, and the ambition to win new business. Interested? Send us your CV or simply get in touch for an informal chat. The coffee is on us!
