Job Description

We're looking for a proactive and solution-oriented Housing Specialist to help build and grow our housing practice in the area of Den Haag & Rotterdam. This is a new role with plenty of opportunity to shape how we work and improve the experience for international employees relocating to the Netherlands. If you enjoy working with people from different cultures, have great communication skills, with a passion for finding people a home, we'd love to hear from you. Your Role This is a unique role in a new team with plenty of opportunity to shape how we work and improve the experience for international employees relocating to the Netherlands. You'll own housing searches from first conversation to keys in hand, build our network of landlords and agents, and help decide how housing works at Settly. One day you'll be at a viewing with a family who arrived last week; the next you'll be negotiating a lease or improving a process that will be used for every search after it. You'll combine hands-on operational work with managing relationships with our housing partners. If you enjoy solving complex problems, working with people from different cultures, and building processes from the ground up, we'd love to hear from you. You'll own a portfolio of end-to-end housing searches for transferees, from intake and needs assessment through viewings, offers and contract signing to move-in. Accompany transferees to viewings in person, or host video viewings when they are still abroad. Review lease agreements, negotiate terms with landlords and agents, and guide transferees through deposits, check-in and inventory, and registering at their new address. Advise on both temporary and long-term housing, and help transferees set realistic expectations about the Dutch rental market. Build and maintain a strong network of landlords, agents, housing providers and other partners. Manage the housing vendors we continue to work with alongside our in-house team, monitoring quality, availability and service levels. Handle escalations and complex housing situations with professionalism and empathy. Act as the housing expert for our clients, briefing their HR and talent acquisition teams on market developments, regulations and what to expect. Advise colleagues on housing questions and work closely with our Relocation and Customer Success teams. Stay up to date with the Dutch housing market and rental legislation. Help design our housing processes, templates and tools, and spot opportunities to improve the transferee experience. About you 2-5 years of experience within the Dutch housing market Strong communication skills with the ability to build trust with both clients and partners. Excellent customer service skills and a genuine desire to help others. A proactive, solution-driven mindset and the ability to think creatively when challenges arise Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Comfortable working independently while collaborating across teams. Clear, confident communication: you build trust with transferees, clients and partners alike, and can negotiate on someone's behalf. Native-level English (spoken and written). Living in or around Den Haag or Rotterdam Full driver's license. Comfortable cycling around the city to visit properties or clients when needed. Fluent English (C1/C2), spoken and written. Bonus points (not a must have) An existing network of landlords and agents in the Randstad Dutch is a strong plus Experience in real estate/relocation/global mobility Previous experience in start-up or scale-up environment Don't worry if you don't tick every box. We're looking for great people, not perfect CVs. If you're excited about the role and think you could be a good fit, we'd love to hear from you.

Core Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end housing searches for relocating employees, including needs assessment, viewings, lease negotiations, contracts, and move-in support. Build and manage housing partner relationships, advise clients and colleagues on the Dutch rental market, and improve housing processes and the transferee experience.

Requirements

Applicants should have 2–5 years of experience in the Dutch housing market, strong communication and customer service skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently and collaboratively. Native-level or C1/C2 English, residence in or near The Hague or Rotterdam, a full driver's license, and comfort cycling around the city are required; Dutch and relevant real estate or relocation experience are advantageous.
