Senior Network Engineer (Enterprise Operations) Amsterdam, Netherlands 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract Start: ASAP About the Role UST is seeking a Senior Network Engineer (Enterprise Operations) to join our team onsite in Amsterdam, supporting a prestigious global client. This role combines hands-on networking expertise with a strong customer-focused mindset, ensuring reliable network operations, excellent user experience, and continuous service improvement. Key Responsibilities: Support and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance. Install, configure, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, wireless, VoIP, and video conferencing solutions. Lead or contribute to incident resolution, root cause analysis, and service improvement initiatives. Monitor network performance using tools such as SolarWinds. Produce KPI and service reports and support capacity planning activities. Collaborate with vendors to ensure SLA compliance and operational excellence. Ensure security, patching, change management, and ITIL best practices are followed. Skills & Experience: Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, routing, switching, IP networking, and WAN services. Experience with Cisco routers/switches, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, SonicWall firewalls, and VPN technologies. Knowledge of wireless networking, VoIP, and video conferencing platforms. Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools such as SolarWinds. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Customer-first mindset with strong problem-solving abilities. Core Responsibilities

Maintain and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, wireless, VoIP, and video conferencing systems, while ensuring availability, performance, and security. Resolve incidents, conduct root cause analysis, monitor and report on service performance, support capacity planning, and collaborate with vendors on service improvements and SLA compliance.

Requirements

Requires strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, routing, switching, IP networking, and WAN services, along with experience using Cisco, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, SonicWall, VPN, wireless, VoIP, video conferencing, and network monitoring technologies. Strong communication, stakeholder management, customer service, and problem-solving abilities are expected; exposure to Agile, project work, and AI-driven automation or analytics is desirable.
