We are dedicated to fostering a collaborative learning environment where emerging talent can develop practical skills and gain real-world exposure to international tech and cybersecurity standards. Role Overview As a Cyber Security Intern at our Netherlands office, you will work directly with our internal IT and security infrastructure teams. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience in safeguarding digital assets, identifying vulnerabilities, and mitigating active threats. Vulnerability Management: Support the execution of routine vulnerability scans and assist in patch management processes across company endpoints and servers. Incident Response Support: Shadow the security team during incident response protocols, helping to document security events, analyze root causes, and prepare incident reports. Access Control: Assist in managing user access permissions, reviewing active directories, and ensuring compliance with the principle of least privilege (PoLP). Policy & Documentation: Contribute to the drafting, reviewing, and updating of internal security policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and data protection guidelines. Security Awareness: Help coordinate and distribute cybersecurity awareness training materials and phishing simulations for internal staff. Requirements & Qualifications Education: Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cyber Security, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline. Technical Foundations: Solid fundamental understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S), operating systems (Windows, Linux), and basic cryptography. Tool Familiarity: Basic exposure to or academic experience with security tools such as Wireshark, Nmap, Splunk, or similar SIEM/vulnerability scanning tools is highly advantageous. Language Proficiency: Professional working proficiency in English is mandatory. Fluency in Dutch (spoken and written) is highly preferred for seamless integration into the local office environment. Work Arrangement: 100% On-site. The intern must be able to commute to and work from our Netherlands office for the duration of the internship. Mindset: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive, ethical approach to handling sensitive information. What We Offer Mentorship: Direct supervision and technical mentoring from experienced IT and cybersecurity professionals. Real-World Exposure: Practical experience working with enterprise-grade security environments and compliance standards. Career Growth: A structured evaluation process at the end of the term, with the potential for transition into a permanent role based on performance and organizational requirements. Work Culture: A dynamic, international work environment in the Netherlands that values innovation, continuous learning, and teamwork.
