The Journey Analytics team provides the technical foundation for a data-driven Essent. In recent years, the team has built a modern analytics platform to replace our previous marketing technology. Using technologies such as RudderStack and Amplitude, we collect and process behavioural data reliably. Our focus is now shifting towards the continued development, integration and governance of the platform. You will work with web analysts, data analysts, product teams, marketers and software engineers. The technical landscape and the dependencies between systems are complex. That is why we are looking for an experienced engineer who maintains a clear overview, provides technical direction and connects technology, people and processes. As a Senior Software Engineer Journey Analytics, you will focus on: Further developing our data pipeline, with a focus on reliability, automation, scalability and governance Integrating analytics solutions with websites, apps, marketing platforms and other digital systems Developing and maintaining shared measurement standards, identification conventions and data collection rules Advising teams on technical and functional decisions within analytics, marketing and personalisationImproving code, architecture, development processes and collaboration between different teams Enabling insight into the complete customer journey across different channels Frank Haverkort, Engineering Manager: “In this role, you will be part of the Journey Analytics team. The team consists of four colleagues who work on the analytics platform, data integrations and measurement standards. Together, we provide reliable behavioural data that enables Essent to make better decisions. You recognise yourself in this and in the following: You have extensive experience with modern JavaScript and TypeScript environments and Node.js You have experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery, preferably using GitLab CI You have experience with Infrastructure as Code and technologies such as AWS CDK, Terraform and Docker You have experience with data pipelines, event-driven architecture and designing, building or managing analytics and tracking solutions You have experience with technical decision-making and stakeholder management within a complex organisation Experience with RudderStack, Segment, Amplitude, session replay, A/B testing, Angular, React Native, data engineering or marketing technology is an advantage. Core Responsibilities

Develop and govern reliable, scalable data pipelines and integrate analytics solutions with websites, apps, marketing platforms, and other digital systems. Establish shared measurement and data collection standards, advise teams on analytics and personalisation decisions, and improve architecture, development processes, and cross-team collaboration to provide insight into customer journeys.

Requirements

Candidates should have extensive experience with modern JavaScript and TypeScript environments, Node.js, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, data pipelines, event-driven architecture, and analytics or tracking solutions. They should also be able to make technical decisions and manage stakeholders in a complex organisation; experience with tools such as RudderStack, Segment, Amplitude, and Docker is beneficial.
