Your role VDL Mobility Innovation Centre (VDL MIC) is a battery manufacturer for, among others, a major OEM in the automotive industry. Within VDL Group, there are various applications that use battery systems. The next step for VDL MIC is to engineer applications based on customer specifications and to realize and industrialize these products and production processes ourselves. From A to Z, from prototype to series production. We are looking for people who want to pioneer with us in this business. The engineering team will focus on two areas: product and process (co)development. A team of 7 multidisciplinary engineers will work closely together to achieve this, each with their own expertise in a specific field. Are you ready to take on this challenge? As a Process Engineer within this Engineering team, your responsibilities include: Developing process concepts in the areas of production, quality, data, maintenance, logistics, and technology applications. The goal is to deliver a manufacturable product and executable process (within the framework of customer specifications) to your colleagues in the Battery Operations team. Designing the process, both in the concept phase and in the detailed engineering phase. Taking actions to achieve more standardization and simplifications in design. Selecting processes that meet the specified requirements. Monitoring critical aspects of the work. Ensuring that processes comply with applicable regulations. Providing support to the engineering and production team during product and process development. Coordinating activities, both internally and externally. Your strength To fulfill this role effectively, it’s important that you have: Preferably a Master's degree (in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar), supplemented with work experience in the automotive and/or production environment. Willingness to learn new engineering software. Demonstrable analytical thinking skills. Ability to translate analysis into solutions and implementation with corresponding planning. A passion for innovation, renewal, and an open culture. Proficiency in the English language. Core Responsibilities

Develop and design production process concepts from initial concept through detailed engineering, selecting processes that meet customer requirements and applicable regulations. Coordinate internal and external activities and support engineering and production teams to deliver manufacturable products and executable processes.

Requirements

A master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a similar field is preferred, along with work experience in automotive and/or production environments. Candidates should demonstrate analytical thinking, the ability to turn analysis into planned solutions, willingness to learn engineering software, an innovative mindset, and English proficiency.
