  • Perform monthly financial-statement fluctuation analysis and investigate unusual or unsupported movements.
  • Provide audit support and participate in internal-control walkthroughs to meet local audit requirements.
  • Analyse general-ledger data to ensure appropriate revenue, expense, equity, and loan-advance recognition.
  • Record property acquisitions, review transaction information, and support acquisition onboarding.
  • Prepare and review monthly bank reconciliations and incorporate third-party data into reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Prepare payment calculations, distributions, and reporting packages for joint-venture partners.
  • Oversee third-party property managers in operational accounting, including rents, service charges, insurance, property taxes, accruals, recoveries, and related payments.
  • Review vendor-invoice coding instructions and oversee accounts receivable, cash application, overdue balances, and billing disputes for assigned countries.
  • Analyse lease agreements to determine straight-line rent calculations.
  • Support other accounting functions, identify process improvements, and complete special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

We would expect the successful candidate to have:

  • Suitable post-qualified accounting experience within commercial real estate.
  • Strong financial acumen, knowledge of financial statements, and a thorough understanding of general accounting standards.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, close work papers, and financial analysis.
  • The organisation, attention to detail, flexibility, efficiency, and ownership needed to work to strict monthly and quarterly reporting deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal teams, auditors, and external service providers.
  • Excellent PC skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • A fully qualified accounting designation such as ACA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent, or equivalent work experience.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
