The Job

The Barback is responsible for ensuring that the bar team always has the tools required to serve customers continuously on shift. Our Barback will keep all of the stations fully stocked with products, utensils and ice at all times. Our ideal candidate is interested in growing into a bartender role and someone who can work well under pressure in a team environment. Our Barback must be very personable, organized, and diligent in completing tasks. This fast paced environment asks THE DUCHESS barback to perform at the highest level, ensuring excellent service to our guests and our team members on the floor.

We are looking for enthusiastic ‘cocktail-loving’ new colleagues in Amsterdam, who wants to be a part of the THE DUCHESS team. The ideal candidate is a driven team player who has "experience serving cocktails and special drinks". 

The Barback ensures all guests are served drinks or food within the bar in a friendly and efficient manner in accordance with company standards. You welcome and greet all guests in a friendly, professional and sincere manner and ensure all guests approaching the Bar counter are acknowledged and served. You ensure that the Bar area is prepared correctly for excellent service.

Responsibilities

• Greeting guests

• Pull all wines necessary for guests

• Manage customers seated/standing in the bar area

• Assist guests with food orders

• Manage drink transfers and all financial transactions at the bar

• Provide a timely greeting to all guests

• Positive attitude and aim to provide great communication skills

Requirements

• Work experience as a Barback preferred

• Attentiveness and patience for guests

• Aim to deliver excellent presentation skills

• Organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment

• Active listening and effective communication skills

• Team spirit

• You are located in Amsterdam (or nearby)

• English needs to be spoken fluently

• Ability to have a flexible schedule
