Practice Area

BCG Platinion launched in Germany in 2000 to add deep technical expertise to the Boston Consulting Group’s existing capabilities. Today, our presence spans across the globe, with offices in Asia, Europe, and South and North America. Our New York-based North American team began in 2014 and in 2017 acquired MAYA Design, a Pittsburgh-based digital design and innovation lab, to grow our capabilities around technology and design.

We support our clients’ total digital transformation through technology, design, cybersecurity, and risk management & financial engineering capabilities. And together with BCG, BCG Platinion’s interdisciplinary team of technical experts enable customized technical solutions and accelerate delivery value through new business platforms, application consolidations, and major system implementations.

What You'll Do

As a Lead AI Tech Architect, you will work alongside a bold, energetic and collaborative team. You will evaluate and coach our clients' technology teams, define technology strategies, architecture solutions and help us design the future. You will develop and grow by being exposed to new and complex challenges daily.

Together with our clients, you will develop superior digital and technology concepts and architecture solutions as well as support technical implementations actively and on site, applying your sound technical know-how, your understanding of business contexts, and your analytical and conceptual skills.

You will take ownership of the technical architecture and delivery of key project workstreams, driving architectural decisions and ensuring alignment with business objectives and technology standards. You will guide project teams in developing robust, scalable solutions while collaborating closely with clients and senior stakeholders. You will continue to strengthen your expertise through advanced training, technology-specific learning, and collaboration with experienced architects.

Finally, as a Lead AI Tech Architect (Capital Markets) you will focus on and contribute to the Financial Services Practice Area development, specifically in Capital and Investment Banking, and help to build the BCG brand as a key member of case teams, mainly in Capital Markets. 

What You'll Bring

• 10-15 years of IT Architecture experience in IT/technology consulting, financial institutions, financial services, or banking industry.
• Hands-on experience with trading platforms and systems such as Nasdaq, Calypso, FIS Murex, Bloomberg, or similar.
• Knowledge of trade and settlement processes and technologies (like FIX, SWIFT, FpML) from FO, MO to BO across various asset classes, including equities, fixed income, FX, commodities and derivates
• Proven experience in designing and implementing enterprise-grade architectures.
• Familiarity with microservices, containerized solutions like Kubernetes/Docker, and event-driven architecture and messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Experience with cloud platforms and services, particularly in high-frequency trading and data processing. Experience in building scalable, resilient, and secure cloud-based solutions.
• Ability to work under pressure and willingness to travel to client sites.
• A University degree with above-average academic performance in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field.
