Job Description

We’re looking for a Lead Python Full-Stack Engineer to join our team in the Netherlands in a hybrid working mode. In this role, you will work on building scalable, cloud-native applications with integrated AI/ML capabilities. You’ll combine deep expertise in Python backend development with solid frontend skills and hands-on experience implementing LLM-based solutions. This position involves delivering full-stack features end-to-end while applying engineering best practices in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities Design, develop, and optimize Python-based backend services using frameworks such as FastAPI or Django Build responsive, user-focused frontend interfaces leveraging React.js and TypeScript Develop and integrate RESTful/GraphQL APIs and microservices into cloud-native architectures Implement AI/ML features and LLM-based solutions in production systems Apply industry best practices: testing strategies, code reviews, CI/CD pipeline management Work within Microsoft Azure and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver full-stack features aligned with delivery goals Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical decisions Ensure observability, performance tuning and cost optimization for deployed applications Requirements 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering with Python as the main language Strong backend development expertise using FastAPI or similar Python frameworks Proficiency in building frontends with React.js and TypeScript Hands-on experience integrating AI/ML solutions – including LLM APIs (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI) or LangChain Knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud services and CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions Solid understanding of microservices, REST API design and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) Experience building RAG pipelines for AI/ML use cases Strong knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.) Excellent communication and documentation skills in English Nice to have Experience with Azure AI Foundry tools and GenAI-assisted development workflows Familiarity with Databricks, data engineering pipelines Exposure to DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code Understanding of MLOps and model operationalization frameworks Knowledge of additional relational DBs (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server) We offer 26 paid holiday days Pension plan scheme Disability insurance (WGA Shortfall insurance) Long-term disability insurance (WIA Top up insurance) EPAM Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) Commuting to work - costs reimbursement Laptop + corporate simcard + corporate mobile device (subject to certain eligibility requirements) Bike lease Employee Assistance Program Corporate Programs including Employee Referral Program with rewards Learning and development opportunities including in-house training and coaching, professional certifications, and courses

Core Responsibilities

Design, build, and optimize Python backend services and responsive React/TypeScript interfaces, integrating APIs, microservices, and production AI/ML and LLM solutions. Contribute to architecture and technical decisions while applying engineering best practices and improving application observability, performance, and cost efficiency in Azure and containerized environments.

Requirements

Requires 5+ years of software engineering experience, strong Python backend and React/TypeScript frontend skills, and hands-on experience with LLM integrations and RAG pipelines. Candidates should also have experience with Azure, CI/CD, microservices, REST APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, SQL/NoSQL databases, and strong English communication and documentation skills.
