About MAAP The My Advanced Analytics Platform (MAAP) team enables AI development across ABN AMRO through three complementary streams: AI Infrastructure – foundational AI services, model hosting, and AI Gateway capabilities (scope of this vacancy) Capabilities – reusable AI building blocks, developer journeys, standards, governance, and platform guidance Agents – delivery and validation of agentic AI solutions in business domains Together, these streams provide an end-to-end AI enablement model that allows teams across the bank to build AI solutions safely, efficiently, at scale, and in compliance with enterprise architecture standards. Your Role As an AI Platform Engineer in the MAAP AI Infra Stream, you will design, build, and maintain the AI services that our client's Data and AI platform contains. You ensure our services are scalable, governable, and secure while also offering access to state-of-the-art technology and AI models across domains. You are passionate about, and have a deep understanding of, AI and platform engineering with a focus on governance, security and scalability. You understand that compliance is necessary for well-designed implementation in a bank. You are a clear communicator, a strong collaborator, goal-oriented, and flexible. What You'll Do Drive AI enablement and innovation Design and develop AI infrastructure that is scalable and cutting-edge, in line with bank wide standards (e.g. monitoring, networking, security-by-design, privacy, auditability, governability) Prototype and translate emerging AI infrastructure components and features into enterprise standards Collaborate and align regulatory requirements with enterprise architecture, security, risk, data governance, and platform teams Facilitating AI developer teams Support the teams consuming our services through your combined expertise of infrastructure, AI, and our platform Build templates and reference implementations for AI infrastructure consumption Platform Engineering Design and implement scalable cloud-native solutions Implement CI/CD pipelines and platform automation Develop integrations between AI services, AKS services, and supporting platforms Our Tech Stack and tooling Azure (AI) Services Databricks / Unity Catalog AKS (Kubernetes) Azure Devops (Repositories/Pipelines) Bicep VSCode (with Copilot) What We Are Looking For Platform/Software Engineering Strong platform engineering skills on Azure, including networking and IAM (Entra Id) Knowledge of Azure AI services and Azure API Management Experience with reliability engineering (observability, scalability, availability) for AI platforms Solid background in Python for troubleshooting and prototyping AI technologies Experience with DevOps best practices, including version control, CI/CD, IaC AI & Data Skills Generative AI LLMOps (security/governance, cost/token tracking, rate limiting) Proven understanding of AI-related concepts (agents, RAG, evaluation, prompt engineering, etc) Observability and monitoring (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics) Architecture Skills Security and governance awareness Developer Experience (DevEx) mindset Systems thinking Architecture modelling

Core Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, and governable AI infrastructure and services for the bank’s data and AI platform. Develop platform automation, integrations, templates, and reference implementations, while helping AI development teams use the services in compliance with enterprise and regulatory standards.

Requirements

The role calls for strong Azure platform engineering skills, including networking, identity and access management, Azure AI services, and API Management, along with Python, DevOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code experience. Candidates should understand generative AI and LLMOps, AI concepts such as agents and RAG, observability, security and governance, and have a developer-experience and systems-thinking mindset.
