The focus of this role is to ensure the quality and reliability of embedded software running on microcontroller-based systems and single-board computers. As a Senior Embedded Software Test Engineer, you will analyze project requirements, design and maintain test plans, execute functional and integration tests, and document results. You will work closely with software and hardware teams to reproduce and investigate issues, supporting the delivery of high-quality embedded products. Key Responsibilities Define and maintain the test methodology and infrastructure for embedded products across FPGA code, embedded software, and hardware. Select and maintain suitable test frameworks and tools. Build and maintain test benches, fixtures, and hardware setups. Execute test scenarios based on test plans and provide test reports to support internal quality reviews and customer confidence. Identify, investigate, and document defects, including reproduction steps and detailed issue reports. Establish traceability between requirements, tests, defects, and release criteria. Define and execute release validation tests and CI/CD regression tests. Improve product testability through better logging, diagnostics, and instrumentation. Requirements Technical education in Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in embedded software testing, including at least 5 years of experience with embedded systems. Experience testing microcontroller-based systems (e.g., STM32), single-board computers (e.g., Raspberry Pi), and Linux-based systems. Familiarity with CI/CD and automated regression testing, including the ability to build and maintain automated regression environments. Solid understanding of test design techniques, test levels, and test types. Familiarity with embedded communication protocols such as USB, UART, SPI, and I2C.
