What You’ll Do At Elekta
Lead complex product-development projects that matter. As Senior Project Manager R&D, you will lead multiple complex product-development and product-lifecycle projects within Elekta’s Brachytherapy organization.
You will bring structure, pace and transparency to projects involving hardware, software, systems engineering, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Operations, Supply Chain and commercial stakeholders. Your focus will be on building realistic plans, addressing risks early and ensuring that teams follow through on their commitments.
The role combines hands-on project leadership with portfolio-level coordination. You will work in a regulated environment where delivery, quality and compliance are equally important.
Responsibilities
- Lead projects from initiation through delivery while managing several projects or workstreams at the same time.
- Establish integrated project plans, milestones, budgets, resource assumptions and delivery baselines.
- Manage scope, risks, issues, dependencies, changes and delivery commitments.
- Create a clear execution rhythm and ensure that decisions and actions are followed through.
- Select the delivery approach that best fits each project, whether SAFe/Agile, hybrid or traditional stage-gate.
- Coordinate across teams and remove cross-functional delivery barriers.
- Lead project reviews, gate reviews, planning sessions and steering forums.
- Develop credible forecasts, capacity plans and recovery scenarios.
- Provide clear and timely reporting to management and project governance bodies.
- Integrate Design Controls, Risk Management and regulated documentation into project plans.
- Work with Regulatory Affairs on regulatory strategies and submissions.
- Support audit, design-review and regulatory readiness.
- Use delivery data, lessons learned and root-cause analysis to improve project execution.
- Provide program-level coordination or perform Release Train Engineer responsibilities in a SAFe environment, depending on the project.
What You’ll Bring
- You have significant experience in project or program management within complex product development.
- A track record of delivering multiple cross-functional projects involving combinations of hardware, software, systems, operations or external partners.
- Experience working with SAFe/Agile, hybrid and traditional delivery approaches.
- Strong planning, forecasting, risk-management and financial-control skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly with technical teams, functional leaders and senior management.
- Experience with Microsoft Project, Jira, BigPicture, Planview or similar platforms.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences or a related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Dutch is an advantage.
- Experience in medical devices is welcome but not essential. Relevant experience may also come from automotive, industrial technology, consumer electronics, aerospace or another regulated or high-reliability product-development environment.
- PMP, PRINCE2 or SAFe certification is an advantage.
- Ability to take ownership, bring different disciplines together, challenge unrealistic assumptions and maintain momentum when projects encounter obstacles.
What Makes This Role Different
You will work on products and technologies that contribute directly to cancer care. At the same time, you will have the opportunity to improve how complex R&D projects are planned and delivered.
This role offers variety across new product development, lifecycle projects and different delivery methods. It is particularly suitable for someone who enjoys creating structure, solving delivery problems and bringing teams together around clear and achievable commitments.
What You’ll Get
In this role, you will work for a higher purpose: hope for everyone dealing with cancer, and access to the best cancer care for everyone, regardless of where they are in the world. You will be part of our international, innovative team and have opportunities to learn and develop.
