Job Description

APM Terminals

At APM Terminals, a global leader in port and terminal operations, we enable global trade and drive sustainable growth. What drives us forward is a mindset of always improving, observing how work happens, identifying what creates value, and removing what gets in the way. We constantly look for smarter, simpler, and safer ways of operating. If you thrive in environments where people value learning and are committed to continuously improve daily operations, join us and be a part of our journey.

Lead Financial Controller – Group Reporting & Controllership

As Lead Financial Controller, you will play a central role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy and timely delivery of group consolidation and financial reporting across a global organisation.

Working closely with senior finance leadership, you will act as a trusted sparring partner, helping create clarity across multiple priorities, maintain financial control, solve complex reporting challenges, and continuously improve how the team operates. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong accounting and reporting expertise with a hands-on mindset and enjoys balancing multiple stakeholders, reporting cycles, audit deadlines and competing priorities in a dynamic international environment.

We are not necessarily looking for an established senior people leader. Instead, we are seeking someone with the potential and ambition to grow into broader leadership responsibilities while already demonstrating strong ownership, coordination skills, and the ability to bring people together around shared goals.

What We Can Offer

At APM Terminals, we foster a dynamic learning and training culture that empowers our employees to excel. Our commitment to improvement means every team member has the opportunity to develop their skills and advance their careers by continuously refining how we work. Experience a diverse, multinational workplace where your operational insights directly influence how we work.

  • High-impact position at the heart of a global terminal operator.
  • Exposure to senior international finance and business stakeholders.
  • Opportunities to contribute to reporting enhancement, process improvement, and finance transformation initiatives.
  • Strong focus on continuous improvement, professional development, and leadership growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate group consolidation and financial close activities across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate and prioritise work across reporting activities, ensuring deadlines are met through effective planning, alignment and delegation.
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery of reporting and consolidation outputs.
  • Review consolidation adjustments, intercompany balances, and key balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Own and coordinate the month-end, quarter-end and year-end reporting cycle, ensuring accurate and timely execution of all key deliverables.
  • Support the preparation and review of consolidated financial statements and management reporting packages.
  • Apply IFRS and APMM GAAP requirements across areas including foreign exchange, leases, provisions, impairments, and business combinations.
  • Coordinate external audit activities, manage requests, support issue resolution, and build strong stakeholder relationships across Finance, Tax, Treasury, Shared Services, and the business.
  • Drive reporting quality, governance, automation, standardisation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What We Are Looking For

  • Continuous improvement mindset: we are looking for someone who brings a thoughtful improvement mindset, curious about how work gets done and motivated to make meaningful, sustainable improvements over time.
  • Leadership expectation: We are looking for people who consistently put customers first, lead by example with respect for people, deliver results with integrity, and drive continuous improvement by solving problems at the root, developing people, and raising standards every day.
  • Proven experience in Financial Control, Group Reporting, Consolidation, and Accounting & Reporting.
  • Strong applied knowledge of IFRS and experience managing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting processes.
  • Experience within a multinational reporting, consolidation or corporate finance environment
  • Exposure to OneStream, Hyperion/HFM, SAP, Oracle or similar reporting environments
  • Strong understanding of consolidation, intercompany accounting, balance sheet integrity, financial controls, and external audit requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple reporting workstreams and deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, professional judgement, and problem-solving capabilities, combined with a hands-on approach.
