Job Description

At Pieter Smit Group, it's about more than transport. It's about delivering Europe's biggest tours and events. Do you want to be part of concerts by well-known artists, major sporting events and beautiful theatre productions in the Netherlands and beyond, and even go on tour with them? You make sure the show goes on! As Senior Planner / Logistics Project Coordinator, you are responsible for planning and managing complex national and international projects. You make sure the right crew, vehicles and resources are available at the right time, and that projects are prepared and delivered smoothly. Who are we? For more than 45 years, Pieter Smit Group has been the specialist in entertainment logistics. With offices in six European countries and a fleet of more than 1,500 vehicles, we provide complete logistics solutions for theatre, concert and event tours. What will you do? Create and manage national and international project schedules. Plan on a project basis: you turn quotations into concrete schedules for international tours. Plan the stage managers, vehicles and other resources needed for projects. Build efficient and realistic schedules that balance capacity, availability and priorities. Maintain strong working relationships with planners at our international offices and make sure communication is clear and on time. Lead, guide and motivate the stage managers in your schedule. Act as the point of contact for stage managers, clients, key accounts and drivers on planning and operational matters. Work closely with Fleet Management, fleet administration and the garage to align vehicle availability. Brief drivers and make sure they have the right information to carry out projects. Identify and resolve bottlenecks, changes and ad-hoc situations in the schedule. Plan efficient routes and make quick, independent decisions to keep projects on track. Arrange and monitor customs formalities and other operational requirements. Take part in the on-call rota outside office hours. When are you successful? The planning of stage managers and equipment is accurate, up to date and efficient. Projects have the right crew, vehicles and resources in time. Multiple projects and tours are planned at the same time in a clear and controlled way. Changes and bottlenecks are spotted quickly and resolved effectively. Communication between clients, stage managers, planners, drivers and international offices is clear and effective. Key accounts receive tailored solutions that match both the client's needs and our operational capabilities. Daily planning and operations run smoothly, even with last-minute changes and under time pressure. Who are you? You work and think at MBO+/HBO level (upper secondary vocational to bachelor's level) and have an affinity with the events industry. You have at least two years of experience in the entertainment or transport industry. You stay calm under pressure and excel at keeping the overview when schedules keep changing. You have strong analytical skills and switch easily between tasks and priorities. You are solution-oriented and see challenges where others see problems. You have excellent communication skills in Dutch and English (French is a plus). You know transport regulations, including driving and rest times. You have experience with systems such as CRM or TMS and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office. You are flexible and willing to cover an on-call shift outside office hours roughly once every six weeks. What do we offer? Salary: € 3,200 to € 4,500 gross per month, depending on your experience. A 12-month contract with a direct prospect of a permanent position. Access to our own gym, a good pension scheme and travel allowance (€ 0.23 per km or full public transport reimbursement). Training and development opportunities. Opportunities to grow within an international organisation. Free parking. A chance to get tickets for concerts and theatre shows. An informal working atmosphere in a dynamic, international environment where you literally get a look behind the scenes of the biggest productions. Ready for the next step? Apply today! Send your CV or motivation to [email protected], for the attention of Julian Natte. No standard cover letter needed. We'd much rather hear why you're a great fit for us! We look forward to meeting you!
