Job Description

Inspection Data & Operations Lead | Amsterdam Field teams. Smart planning. Data that delivers. Location: B. Amsterdam Commitment: 28–36 hours per week (FT can be discussed) Preferred start: 1 December 2026 (earlier or PT start possible!) Salary (indication): EUR 3.000 - EUR 5.000 gross Great AI starts with great operations. Cities are full of assets that need attention. We help municipalities and contractors see what’s happening on their streets using smart cameras, embedded technology and custom AI. But even the smartest models rely on well-run inspections and reliable data. That’s where you come in. As our Inspection Operations Lead, you’ll keep the entire field operation moving. From turning client data into routes and schedules to guiding our (bike) inspectors, checking coverage and preparing clean data for analysis. It’s hands-on, varied and genuinely important to how we grow. About us Velotech AI is a young, ambitious Amsterdam startup already working with municipalities and infrastructure contractors. We’re building the operational backbone to take our AI-powered inspections to the next level. What you’ll make happen Plan the work. Analyse client source data, set up inspection areas and routes, coordinate schedules and adapt priorities when plans change. Keep inspectors moving. Be the go-to person for our (bike) inspectors: recruiting, briefing, answering questions, solving practical issues and tracking progress. Close the gaps. Check recorded routes and results for coverage and completeness; identify missed locations and organise targeted follow-up (“sweeping”) routes. Turn files into usable data. Combine and check spreadsheets and source files, track kilometres and milestones, and coordinate with our hardware-, software- and data/annotation colleagues. Own delivery, and improve it. Keep recurring client projects on track, prepare clear updates, flag issues early and make our planning and workflows smarter as we scale. Who you are Organised, precise and proactive. Very comfortable working with large amounts of data. Confident with large spreadsheets (Excel; CSV); you can combine files, spot gaps and explain your findings clearly. Solid understanding of Python, running scripts and interpreting the results. Bonus points (!) for experience with GIS-systems. Comfortable working with different people, from field inspectors and technical colleagues to municipal clients. Some working experience in operations, planning, project coordination and/or data processing. Able to communicate well in Dutch and English, and happy to work primarily from our Amsterdam office. Eager to learn new skills and a healthy curiosity about automation and AI (Claude code). Why join Velotech AI Startup energy, real ownership. We’re a small, ambitious team; your ideas can quickly become the way we work. Technology with visible impact. The data you help collect supports better maintenance of lighting, road markings and traffic signs. Good people and short lines. Work closely with our operations and technical teams in an informal, collaborative atmosphere. A great place to work: B. Amsterdam, with a lively startup community, padel courts and impressive lunches. Room to learn and grow as our teams, projects and ambitions expand. The practical stuff 28–36 hours per week, usually across four days. Fulltime is also negotiable. Starting with fewer hours and increasing later is negotiable. Initial six-month fixed-term contract, with a preferred start date in November 2026 (flexible by agreement). Salary and employment terms depend on experience and will be discussed. We’ll provide a proper onboarding and handover. Interested? Let’s talk. Send your CV or LinkedIn profile, a few lines about your motivation, your preferred hours and your earliest start date to [email protected]. Your contacts: Kurt Hamming (COO), Reinis Indriksons (Chief inspections), Sam Busstra (Project- & data manager) Velotech AI B.
