Creative AI Engineer
Key Skills
Job Description
This position is for a Creative AI Engineer who works out quickly what AI can do in a given part of the business, and then builds it. One month that may be on-model imagery and video for ecommerce; the next, a brand-tone translation pipeline, product copy at catalog scale, or a virtual audience that lets marketing test a campaign idea before it goes live. You combine curiosity and creative judgment with the engineering skills to turn an idea into a solution that runs reliably in production. YOUR TASKS The work spans image, video, text and insight, and priorities follow where the business sees the most value. You will join a growing AI Team in a fast-moving fashion retailer and report to the AI Team Lead. This is a hybrid role, partly from home and partly at our office in Hilversum, the Netherlands, so we are only considering applicants who live within commuting distance of Hilversum. We value demonstrated skill over a traditional career path, and the selection process includes a portfolio review and a short practical exercise. Responsibilities Learn the Problem Fast: Sit with a department, understand how the work is done today, and find where generative AI makes a measurable difference. Build Across Image, Video and Text: Build generative solutions from on-model imagery, video and packaging visuals to translation, copywriting, virtual audiences and research insights. Run in Production: Own monitoring, output quality, running cost and fixes for what you deliver. Protect Brand and Quality: Make sure output meets brand, tone of voice, model-likeness and usage-rights requirements through the review process. Integrate with the Business Stack: Connect solutions to Adobe Experience Manager, Microsoft 365 and the Google Cloud data platform. Compare Tools Fairly: Run like-for-like comparisons of external generative tools against internal solutions, with the same inputs and conditions, and share the results openly. Enable Self-Service: Build templates, saved prompts and guidance so business teams can use generative AI themselves within agreed guardrails. Cover for the Team: Back up the AI Agent Engineer on basic work, so the team keeps moving when someone is out. Requirements You have a track record of picking up a new domain or tool quickly and shipping something useful with it. Evidence matters more than years in a role. Recent hands-on experience building with generative AI or creative technology, with shipped work across at least two of image, video and text. A portfolio is required. Hands-on experience with Python, APIs and cloud platforms, prompt and retrieval design for language models, and image or video workflow tools such as ComfyUI. Experience with Google Cloud is a plus. A strong eye for fashion imagery and an ear for brand tone, and the confidence to reject output that is technically fine but off brand. You have built solutions that other people rely on, with monitoring, documentation and cost control, not only demos. You understand image rights, model likeness, consent and data privacy, and build those checks into the workflow. You can deliver what was asked, one step at a time, and you bring stakeholders along before going further. You have previously worked with creative directors, marketers and engineers, and you know how to explain trade-offs in plain language. Written and verbal English communication skills. Dutch is a plus.
