Job Description

As a Software Designer – High-Tech Semiconductor Equipment (PLC / C++ / C#), you have experience to design and define PLC, machine control software and higher-level system software for next-generation semiconductor equipment In this role, you contribute to the development of advanced high-tech semiconductor machines, such as next-generation sintering equipment. You operate across the full stack of machine and system control: from PLC-based machine control (TwinCAT / Siemens) to higher-level software components in C++ or C#. You work in either an environment where software is developed from scratch or with large legacy source code, which is tightly integrated with hardware and electronics, requiring a balanced skillset across machine control and modern software engineering. What excites you as a Software Designer – High-Tech Semiconductor Equipment (PLC / C++ / C#)? As a Software Designer, you work on technically challenging semiconductor equipment where machine control and higher-level software come together. You translate requirements into robust designs, take ownership of modules or subsystems, and ensure a consistent design from the PLC layer up to system software. From our office in Eindhoven, at customer locations, and remotely when appropriate, you enjoy working on: Designing and implementing machine control software using PLC technologies (TwinCAT 3 / Siemens) and or SECS/GEM. Developing higher-level equipment control software components in C++ and C#. Translating system requirements into integrated hardware–software solutions and challenging requirements to drive optimal designs. Bridging the gap between control engineering and software engineering disciplines. Contributing to the development and evolution of both greenfield and legacy architectures for high-tech machines. Integrating, testing, and commissioning complex semiconductor equipment. Collaborating within Scrum teams and multidisciplinary engineering groups across software, electronics, and mechanics to deliver high-quality solutions. Sounds good so far? We'd love to tell you more… Your future workplace This is what you bring to the table Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, or a related field, combined with 5–10+ years of experience in high-tech machine building and software development. Strong expertise in PLC-based machine control (Beckhoff TwinCAT 3 and/or Siemens) and experience with SECS/GEM combined with solid software development experience in C++ or C#. Proven experience designing and implementing control software for complex machines and industrial automation systems. Good understanding of Object-Oriented Design, software architecture principles, and requirements engineering, with the ability to translate requirements into effective technical designs. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and with modern development tools such as Git and Azure DevOps. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to bridge machine control and software domains, challenge unclear requirements, and take ownership of solutions. Collaborative and flexible mindset, with willingness to travel within the Netherlands and occasionally across Europe, and to work in a hybrid on-site/remote environment. Nice to have: Python, Java, TwinCAT Safety, or industrial robotics experience (e.g., KUKA). This is what you can expect in return Flexible 32-40 hour working week, with room to work from home. A healthy work-life balance is very important to us. We have 28 holidays with an option to buy an additional 12 holidays. You will work with passionate colleagues who share your drive for technology and business success. By combining our expertise in software, electronics, mechanics, mechatronics, mathematics and assembly, we make the impossible possible for our customers and get to work on challenging high-tech projects. You get a lot of freedom and responsibility; after all, you know exactly what you are doing. Personal coaching and a training budget of €6000 per year, so that you can continue to develop yourself. We also find it important to have fun together. We organize a lot for our employees, from family festivals and sparkling Christmas parties, to inspiring knowledge sessions for the high-tech community. You will be working at a prime location in the heart of the Brainport region. At our main office you can enjoy lunch, sports, making music, and share your knowledge in one of the Sioux Tech Labs (hobby clubs). High Tech & High Fun We can tell you all about the typical Sioux-culture and the high-tech challenging projects. About how you can develop yourself, like nowhere else. But we’d rather have you hear it from our own employees. Go to testimonials > If you want to know more about our challenging projects, please click here. Important note: This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the US Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require Sioux to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
