Project description We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Microsoft 365 / Power Platform Solution Architect to lead the final implementation, transition and ongoing technical ownership of an enterprise Document Management and Workflow Automation solution built on Microsoft Azure, SharePoint Online and Power Platform. The solution is currently being implemented with an external Microsoft technology partner and is approaching the Business-as-Usual (BAU) phase. The successful candidate will be responsible for taking over the existing environment, ensuring a smooth knowledge transfer, completing outstanding implementation activities and establishing a stable, secure and scalable operating model. This role requires a combination of strong solution architecture expertise, hands-on technical capabilities and delivery leadership, with the ability to independently manage the solution and support future enhancements. Responsibilities Solution Architecture & Technical Leadership Take end-to-end technical ownership of the existing Document Management and Workflow Automation solution. Review and understand the current architecture, configurations, integrations and dependencies across Azure, SharePoint Online and Power Platform. Lead the completion of outstanding implementation activities and ensure solution readiness for BAU. Assess the existing solution for performance, scalability, maintainability, security and operational resilience. Define and maintain solution architecture, technical standards and best practices. Provide technical direction and hands-on support for troubleshooting, enhancements and future development. Project Transition & BAU Readiness Lead technical knowledge transfer and transition activities from the existing Microsoft implementation partner. Review existing technical documentation, deployment processes, configurations and automation scripts. Identify and address technical gaps, risks and dependencies before BAU handover. Establish operational support procedures, monitoring, troubleshooting and incident resolution processes. Ensure the internal team has the required knowledge, documentation and access to independently maintain and enhance the solution. Support production stabilization and continuous improvement following transition. SharePoint Online Architecture & Configuration Strong understanding of SharePoint Online architecture, site structures, permissions and governance. Advanced experience configuring document libraries, metadata, content types and document management capabilities. Experience working with SharePoint managed properties, search schemas and metadata mappings. Ability to develop, troubleshoot and optimize Keyword Query Language (KQL) queries. Hands-on experience with PnP Modern Search v4, including search configuration and customization. Understand SharePoint limitations, particularly when used as a data source for Power Platform applications. Optimize SharePoint document storage, retrieval, search and workflow integration. Power Platform Development & Architecture Design, develop, maintain and troubleshoot complex Power Automate workflows, including: Parent-child flows and reusable workflow components. Flows triggered by Power Apps Canvas Apps. Scheduled and recurrence-based flows. Data-change-triggered automation. Error handling, exception management and workflow optimization. Develop and maintain Power Apps Canvas Apps, including: Solution-based Canvas Apps. Custom SharePoint forms. Integration with SharePoint libraries and lists. Understand Power Platform architecture, platform limitations, delegation constraints and performance considerations. Manage Power Platform environments, security roles, connection references and environment variables. Ensure appropriate use of user-based and service-account permissions. PowerShell, Automation & Deployment Read, execute, maintain and enhance PowerShell 7.x scripts. Install, configure and maintain PowerShell modules, particularly PnP PowerShell. Understand and modify variables, parameters and existing provisioning scripts. Develop additional PowerShell automation capabilities to support future enhancements. Read, maintain and update JSON configuration files. Understand and manage solution-based deployments across Power Platform environments. Support deployment automation, version control and release management. Troubleshoot deployment issues involving permissions, connection references and environment configurations. Security, Governance & Operational Support Ensure appropriate security controls, access management and permissions across SharePoint and Power Platform. Understand Microsoft 365 and Power Platform security roles and governance requirements. Manage application connections, service accounts and environment-specific configurations. Support operational monitoring, issue resolution and root-cause analysis. Ensure technical documentation and support procedures are maintained. Identify opportunities to improve automation, reliability and operational efficiency. Skills Must have MUST HAVE: 8+ years of relevant IT experience, with significant hands-on experience in SharePoint Online and Power Platform. Previous experience as a Solution Architect, Technical Lead or Senior Microsoft 365 Developer. Experience delivering enterprise Document Management Systems (DMS) and workflow automation solutions. Experience with Microsoft Azure services, identity and access management. Understanding of application lifecycle management (ALM), CI/CD and deployment governance. Microsoft certifications in Power Platform, SharePoint, Microsoft 365 or Azure would be advantageous. Essential Technical Skills Microsoft SharePoint Online Advanced SharePoint Online administration and configuration. Document libraries, metadata management and managed properties. KQL queries and SharePoint search configuration. PnP Modern Search v4. SharePoint permissions, site architecture and governance. Microsoft Power Platform Advanced Power Automate development, including complex and parent-child flows. Power Apps Canvas App development and custom SharePoint forms. Solution-based deployment and environment management. Environment variables, connection references and security roles. SharePoint data-source integration and platform limitations. PowerShell & Automation PowerShell 7.x scripting and troubleshooting. PnP PowerShell modules. JSON configuration management. Provisioning scripts and deployment automation. Architecture & Delivery Experience designing and maintaining Microsoft 365 / Power Platform solutions. Understanding of Azure integration and cloud architecture. Experience taking ownership of solutions developed by external implementation partners. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities. Experience transitioning enterprise applications from implementation into BAU support. Core Responsibilities

Establish a secure, scalable operating model, support troubleshooting and enhancements, and ensure the internal team can independently maintain and improve the solution.

Requirements

Requires 8+ years of relevant IT experience and substantial hands-on SharePoint Online and Power Platform expertise, including prior work as a solution architect, technical lead, or senior Microsoft 365 developer. Candidates should have experience delivering enterprise document management and workflow solutions, Azure and identity management, PowerShell automation, ALM and CI/CD, and transitioning partner-built solutions into ongoing support.
