Job Description

Software & Data Engineer at VitalFluid Help make our machines smarter. VitalFluid's machines are already generating valuable data every day. The next step isn't collecting more data. It's using that data to improve performance, predict issues before they happen and make the machines increasingly intelligent. We're looking for a Software & Data Engineer who wants to take ownership of the platform behind this journey. You'll work with Azure, Python, machine data and machine learning to improve uptime, develop predictive maintenance capabilities and help shape the future intelligence of the product. Your role Some days you'll improve cloud infrastructure, data pipelines or Grafana dashboards. Other days you'll analyse sensor data, maintain machine learning models or investigate why a machine behaves differently in the field. Your focus: Own and improve the Azure-based data platform; Build reliable software and data solutions; Develop and maintain predictive maintenance models; Improve uptime, reliability and machine performance; Turn machine data into actionable insights; Help define the future roadmap for machine intelligence. What we’re looking for We’re looking for an engineer with a solid software foundation and a genuine interest in Data Science. You don’t need to arrive as a specialist in every technology on the list. You do need to be curious, comfortable taking ownership and motivated to understand what the data means in the context of a real machine. You probably bring: Professional experience developing software in Python; Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure; An understanding of Data Science and machine-learning workflows, including developing and deploying models; Familiarity with modern software delivery practices such as Git, CI/CD, automated testing and Docker; Experience working with databases, data pipelines or cloud-based backend systems; An analytical approach to solving problems and investigating root causes; The ability to work independently while collaborating with engineers from different disciplines; A continuous-improvement mindset and the motivation to keep developing both the platform and your own skills. Why VitalFluid Many software and data roles are several steps removed from the product they influence. This one isn’t. The software you build will help engineers understand machines operating in the real world. The dashboards you improve can help a service specialist diagnose a problem remotely. The models you deploy can identify changing machine behaviour before it becomes a failure. You’ll join at a point where the foundation exists, but the future direction is still open. You’ll have the freedom to improve the architecture, introduce new tools, build prototypes and help decide how intelligence becomes part of VitalFluid’s products. Few early-career software and data roles offer this combination of technical breadth, ownership and visible product impact Let’s talk Interested? Apply now or send your CV and any questions to [email protected].

Core Responsibilities

Own and improve the Azure-based data platform, building reliable software and data pipelines while developing and maintaining predictive maintenance models. Analyze machine data to improve uptime and performance, provide actionable insights, and help shape the product’s machine intelligence roadmap.

Requirements

Candidates should have professional Python software development experience, cloud platform experience (preferably Azure), and an understanding of data science and machine-learning workflows, including model development and deployment. They should also be familiar with modern software delivery practices and data or backend systems, and bring analytical problem-solving skills, ownership, collaboration, and a continuous-improvement mindset.
