Job Description

About Chargetrip Chargetrip is the EV routing and navigation engine for the energy transition. Our API-based solutions empower fleets, rental/leasing companies, utilities, and OEMs to deliver smarter, energy-aware routing, dynamic charging planning, and meaningful CO₂ reductions. We’re passionate about clean mobility and building scalable B2B partnerships across Europe — and soon, the world. We care more about curiosity, teamwork, and real impact than formal structures or fixed ways of doing things. About the Role If you are motivated to make the world a little better and have a real impact, Chargetrip is the right place for you. We take pride and ownership in what we do with a relentless focus on reliability, scalability, and maintainability. What You’ll Be Working On Your primary responsibility is to maintain, develop, improve, and scale Chargetrip’s infrastructure. Our EV routing services are used by drivers worldwide, and keeping them running and stable is a challenge you will tackle closely with our Infrastructure and Backend teams. You know databases beyond the "create instance" button. You can look at a slow query and tell whether the problem is the query, the index, the schema, or the instance. You've dealt with data models that grew without a plan, and you know how to untangle them without taking production down. You understand how software is built with microservices, and how each service's data decisions add up over time. You're the person who helps our engineers get schemas right from the start, not the one who cleans up after them. On the platform side, you value standardized, auditable, automated infrastructure, and you're comfortable working in it. Our platform is in good shape. We need someone who can share responsibility for it and step in confidently when production has a bad day. What We Are Looking For We know great candidates come from a variety of backgrounds. If you meet most of these, we'd love to hear from you. Databases: Solid production experience with MongoDB, including performance tuning, data modelling. PostgreSQL: Good working knowledge, including query analysis, indexing, and understanding what makes a schema good or bad Kubernetes and containers: Comfortable operating and troubleshooting workloads on Kubernetes: reading logs, understanding why a pod is failing, and finding your way around a cluster during an incident Infrastructure as Code: Able to read and understand Crossplane (or similar) and make changes with guidance Fundamentals: Confident on Linux, with basic networking troubleshooting skills and everyday Git use Scripting: Bash or Python for automation and investigation Nice to have ClickHouse or other analytical/columnar database experience Redis or other in-memory caches o11y (Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager) and/or OpenTelemetry GitOps tooling such as ArgoCD or FluxCD AWS or other cloud experience Load balancers, reverse proxies, VPNs What You Can Expect Chargetrip understands that flexibility and freedom are values that unlock potential and foster employee wellness, happiness, and performance. Enjoy the flexibility and dynamic environment of a scale-up, but with mature policies and values that ensure a meaningful and well-rounded life at Chargetrip. Some ways we do this for this role: Impact, ownership & purpose: you’ll work on technology that accelerates the adoption of electric mobility and have direct contribution to critical infrastructure decisions; Fair, transparent compensation: competitive salary aligned with your skills and experience, combined with clear progression paths and regular reviews; Flexibility: hybrid model with flexible workplace and hours, fresh office in Amsterdam, and remote-friendly culture; Growth: dedicated budget and time for training, learning opportunities through conferences and courses, and the chance to develop alongside a fast-growing company; Supportive team culture: open feedback and shared wins; Benefits: A minimum of 20 vacation days a year; there is no max €500 annual learning and development budget 100% commuting reimbursement if traveling 10 km+ Monthly phone allowance Laptop or an allowance when you BYOD Yearly company retreat and quarterly events Daily healthy team lunch at the Amsterdam office Work-away week with Romanian team once every two years Access to Alleo employee benefits platform for monthly exclusive perks and benefits A note to headhunters & recruiters Chargetrip handles its recruitment through references and friends. No exceptions. We don't have a lot of HR capacity and are intentionally not engaging with external headhunters and recruiters. Please take this into account when reading through our vacancies. This helps us focus on what's important: our people! We are an equal opportunity employer. We strongly encourage applications from people of all backgrounds, profiles, and perspectives, as we believe diverse teams build better products and experiences. Everyone is welcome — regardless of background or identity. If this role excites you, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t check every single box.

Core Responsibilities

They should be comfortable troubleshooting Kubernetes workloads, reading and modifying infrastructure-as-code configurations, and using Linux, basic networking, Git, and Bash or Python; experience with several listed observability, cloud, database, and GitOps tools is a plus.

About Chargetrip

Industry: Software Development

Company size: 11-50 employees

Chargetrip is the leading EV routing software company, routing 20% of European EV drivers every month through our customers' apps. CPOs and eMSPs use Chargetrip routing to win more sessions and grow utilization. With EV routing, you can own the charging journey and take control over where your drivers go to charge. Drivers who use routing make twice as many transactions on your network. This means more charge sessions at your stations and more charge revenue. Get started with your own routing in as little as two weeks. Learn more on our website and see how to use routing to grow your business.
