We are the market leader in this field in the Netherlands. Our specialisms are cybersecurity, high-speed data, motion control, and real-time data processing. One example is the high-speed processing of scan data from a multi-beam electron microscope. Or the operation of a machine that examines the quality of microprocessors at nano level. In addition to project-based work, we also develop our own FPGA-based products, for example in the fields of encryption, Voice over IP, and preventive maintenance. As a Programmable Logic Engineer, you have a leading role in your team. You all work together with electronics and software teams to create complex solutions for demanding clients. A typical day begins with a stand-up to discuss the tasks for the day with your team. Then you consult with the leads in the other disciplines and calibrate crucial design decisions with them, often standing around the whiteboard together. You spend a lot of your time coding and reviewing VHDL, simulating with CocoTB/Riviera-PRO, and testing and integrating with electronics and software. Moreover, you’re involved in the development of the end-to-end tests in our own regression test framework. You use software methods to build our FPGA solutions repeatably and reliably. As lead, you’re responsible for the building, integration, and testing of your team’s modules, and you are able to demonstrate that these do what they’re supposed to do. You report to the project leader/project manager about your team’s activities, take independent initiative to improve processes and methods, and flag up any problems. Your responsibilities grow as your experience grows, and Technolution gives you all the space you need to continue to develop your knowledge. Typically you You Have Completed a Master’s or Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science 5 -7 years’ experience with programmable logic / FPGA development Excellent leadership qualities. Excellent command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written. You have the experience you need to work for a leader in the field of programmable logic, but you know that no one ever stops learning in this discipline. You like to lead a team of designers and are eager to share your knowledge and experience with them. You are always open to suggestions by others and keep an eye on new developments. You Are Solution-focused Proactive and independent Organized and accurate Quality-focused Security Screening As a Lead Engineer Programmable Logic at Technolution, you will be working with confidential and highly classified information and systems. Therefore, a security screening conducted by the Dutch General Intelligence and Security Service (AIVD), including reference checks and online screening, is a mandatory part of the recruitment process. In addition to meeting the specified job requirements, candidates must demonstrate integrity and discretion, hold Dutch nationality, and have resided in the Netherlands for the past 10 years. Certain requirements also apply to individuals in your immediate circle and to your partner, if applicable. Core Responsibilities

Lead a compact team developing FPGA modules for complex high-tech projects, coordinating with electronics and software teams on design decisions, integration, and testing. Develop and review VHDL, run simulations and end-to-end regression tests, ensure repeatable FPGA builds, report progress and issues, and improve team processes.

Requirements

A bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science and 5–7 years of programmable logic or FPGA development experience are required. Candidates should have strong leadership qualities, excellent spoken and written Dutch, and a proactive, organized, accurate, quality-focused approach; Dutch nationality and ten years of residence in the Netherlands are also required for security screening.
