Job Description
About The Team Uber's EMEA Operations team ensures platform integrity, safety, and regulatory alignment across all marketplace verticals. The Earner Compliance team works at the intersection of Legal, Policy, Product, Engineering, and Regional Operations to identify risks, design standardized compliance solutions, and build robust governance frameworks across diverse EMEA markets. About The Role As the Earner Compliance Specialist for EMEA Delivery, you will be the core subject matter expert responsible for safeguarding our platform while supporting business growth. In this Individual Contributor (IC) role, you will lead the end-to-end review of internal processes, map global product configurations, identify compliance gaps, and align cross-functional partners around standardized mitigations. You are an expert orchestrator and data-driven problem solver. Rather than executing all operational tasks directly, you will bring visibility to compliance risks, establish clear prioritization, and build shared accountability across Central Ops, Local Ops, Product, and Legal. What You'll Do End-to-End Compliance Auditing: Review and map high risk processes across all EMEA Delivery markets, evaluating global product setups and monitoring mechanisms to isolate gaps against Legal recommendations. Tiered Strategy & Playbook Execution: Tailor compliance strategies to market dynamics-scaling existing global playbooks while co-creating pragmatic, customized frameworks with Central and Local Ops. Cross-Functional Alignment & Shared Ownership: Drive visibility of compliance risks up to leadership and establish clear cross-functional alignment on mitigations, priority matrices, and shared operational accountabilities across Legal, Central Ops, Local Ops, and Product. Risk Assessment & Monitoring Frameworks: Conduct risk assessments using data-driven insights to establish continuous feedback loops, measuring the health and effectiveness of ongoing remediation actions. Global-Local Bridge: Serve as the primary operational link between local field operations and global Engineering/Product teams to advocate for technical automation and scalable tooling. Leadership & Performance Standard See the Forest and the Trees: Ability to balance high-level strategic alignment across leadership with granular root-cause investigation. One Uber Mentality: Drive alignment across siloed cross-functional teams, putting the overall integrity of the platform above individual team preferences. No Surprises Culture: Maintain transparent risk visibility and proactive escalation paths so leadership is never caught off guard by regulatory or process gaps. Basic Qualifications 5+ years of professional experience in Compliance, Corporate Governance, Regulatory Operations, or Legal Operations within a high-growth tech or marketplace environment. High fluency in written and spoken English, with a track record of translating complex regulatory guidelines into operational workflows. Strong data analytics and problem-solving skills, with experience evaluating operational processes using quantitative data. Preferred Qualifications Proven ability to drive single-point accountability and influence cross-functional outcomes in a matrixed organization without direct authority. Demonstrated experience handling complex regulatory areas such as Right to Work, identity verification, or account fraud mitigation across international jurisdictions. Ready to Ride? This isn't the kind of place where you follow a playbook - it's where you help write one. If you're driven by impact, energized by challenge, and ready to shape how the world moves - we'd love to hear from you. We’ve grown into a global platform powering flexible earnings and the movement of people and things in ever expanding ways. We’ve gone from connecting rides on 4 wheels to 2 wheels to 18-wheel freight deliveries. From takeout meals to daily essentials to prescription drugs to just about anything you need at any time and earning your way. From drivers with background checks to real-time verification, safety is a top priority every single day. At Uber, the pursuit of reimagination is never finished, never stops, and is always just beginning.
