Support Finance owned applications through routine maintenance and assisting the team with requirements gathering and implementation of enhancements.

Job Description

Position Overview:

The Finance Application Support Team within the finance department is seeking a highly skilled Intermediate Financial Systems Analyst based in the Netherlands to collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders in the United States and the Netherlands. In this role, you will independently support and enhance finance applications, resolve complex user and system issues, and use sound judgment and advanced analytical skills to identify root causes and manage issues through resolution.

You will take ownership of assigned applications and priorities, implement sustainable process improvements with limited oversight, and balance operational support with improvement initiatives. Through effective collaboration with business and technical partners, you will help strengthen global finance operations by improving application reliability, contributing to system enhancements, and sharing knowledge across the team.

This opportunity offers a strong platform to deepen your finance systems expertise, gain broad exposure to global finance operations, and build the skills and ownership needed to progress into more senior technical or functional roles.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently support, develop, and enhance Tagetik finance processes, including data models, integrations, workflows, and multidimensional reporting.
  • Evaluate manual processes, refine business requirements, and deliver efficient, scalable, and sustainable Tagetik solutions.
  • Partner with global business teams to prioritize requests and incidents, meet deadlines, and minimize operational disruption.
  • Lead investigations into Tagetik production issues, perform root-cause analysis, coordinate resolution, and implement preventive controls.
  • Perform accurate system maintenance and configuration changes that support reliable monthly, quarterly, and budgeting processes.
  • Extract, validate, and analyze complex financial data, identify issues, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to assess impacts, resolve complex issues, and deliver effective finance systems solutions.
  • Contribute to Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) ceremonies by refining requirements, estimating work, identifying dependencies, and supporting delivery commitments.
  • Manage assigned work through Scrum boards, communicate status and risks proactively, and drive priorities to completion with limited oversight.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least two years of relevant finance systems, application support, or related experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently support, maintain, and troubleshoot complex finance applications.
  • Advanced Excel and SQL skills, including analyzing complex data and writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting queries.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of accounting and finance processes; experience with investment or insurance products is an advantage.
  • A proactive approach to identifying improvement opportunities, evaluating options, and implementing sustainable solutions.
  • Ability to understand end-to-end finance processes and assess change impacts, dependencies, and risks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain system and process issues clearly to business and technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively across global teams.
  • Experience working in an Agile delivery environment, preferably using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Experience with Tagetik, Power BI, or comparable financial reporting, consolidation, or analytics platforms; familiarity with VBA, database development, or Microsoft Copilot is beneficial.
