Job Description

As Industrialization system engineer you will drive the development of Nearfield Instruments products by translating the overall system design into an architecture that meets the critical industrialization requirements such as reliability, cycle time, availability, diagnostics and costs. To be successful, it is important that you like to take the technical lead between different stakeholders (Like: system engineers, architects, production engineers, Program & project management, and internal customers like Factory and CS). This role provides you the opportunity to influence product design to enhance system reliability, availability, diagnostics, and cycle time. We are looking for someone to: Translate performance requirements to industrialization specifications, perform pre-feasibility studies and analyse the results. Set and align with relevant stakeholders the system level KPIs linked to Availability, Reliability, Serviceability, Diagnostics, and Cycle time and Costs. Be responsible for the verification and validation, which includes documentation, of industrialization requirements within agreed budgets in the conceptual and detailed designs and close the feedback loop from Field and Factory. Pro-actively seek out field data and knowledge from: supply chain, equipment, quality and manufacturing engineers & field data to define improvement proposals and study items focused on industrialization. Create and use data-based models to predict the performance on cycle time, costs, availability and other critical industrialization KPIs. Develop and maintain roadmap: Create a quantified roadmap for Industrialization improvements, align with stakeholders, and drive execution. Education And Experience A Master Degree or PhD in a technical field such as (Electronic / mechanical) engineering, (applied) physics, chemistry, natural science, technology or similar 8+ years of work experience in an high-tech, high-pace company as an expert of product development in a concurrent designing process with a solid theoretical and hands-on experience in the field of Reliability, Availability, Manufacturability and Serviceability At least 3 years of previous experience in an Architect/System engineering role. Leadership and entrepreneur behaviour, being capable to give direction to teams and projects/programs (Cooperative yet persistent) Able to utilize a “helicopter” view, while discussing in-depth with engineers on their domain of expertise Able to inspire, motivate and influence highly skilled professionals Strong analytical ability with a pragmatic and mostly a “can do” mentality Stakeholder management: Influence, negotiate, and build relationships. Keywords Industrialization, System Architecture, RAMS, Industrial Engineering, Reliability, Diagnostics, Availability, Serviceability, Cycle Time, Cost of Goods, Cost of Service, Cost of Install.

Core Responsibilities

Translate system designs and performance requirements into industrialization specifications, define system-level KPIs, and verify and validate industrialization requirements. Use field and factory data to model and improve reliability, availability, serviceability, diagnostics, cycle time, and costs, while aligning stakeholders and driving an improvement roadmap.

Requirements

Requires a master's degree or PhD in a technical field, at least eight years of high-tech product development experience, and at least three years in an architect or systems engineering role. Candidates should bring expertise in reliability, availability, manufacturability, and serviceability, along with technical leadership, analytical ability, and strong stakeholder management skills.
