Do you know the cleanroom and already work shifts? Then you’re exactly who we’re looking for. As an Equipment Technician at SMART Photonics, you keep our production equipment running reliably. Your work determines whether photonic chips for data centers, AI and medical applications leave our building on time. What You’ll Do Perform preventive maintenance and resolve faults on production equipment in the cleanroom Quickly and accurately analyze what goes wrong and fix it structurally Work with operators, engineers and fellow technicians in a fixed shift team Contribute ideas for improving processes and machine maintenance. What You Bring (must-haves) Proven cleanroom experience Shift work experience and available for the 5shift scheme. A technical background: HBO (bachelor’s) or MBO level 4 (vocational) in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics or similar An analytical, independent way of working Good command of Dutch and English Already living in the Netherlands (or near the border) What We Offer Onsite training on our own equipment: you’ll learn our systems from colleagues who work with them every day. It’s hands-on, on-the-job training rather than a formal vocational qualification, so you build on what you already know. 30% shift allowance and a fixed schedule set in advance, so you can plan your life. Room to grow: toward senior level and, over time, even full engineering roles. A good employer: you start with a 1-year contract directly on our payroll. Core Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot production equipment in a cleanroom to keep it operating reliably. Analyze and resolve faults, collaborate with operators, engineers, and technicians on a fixed shift team, and suggest improvements to processes and machine maintenance.

Requirements

Candidates must have proven cleanroom experience, shift-work experience, and availability for the five-shift schedule, along with a technical background at HBO bachelor’s or MBO level 4 in a relevant field. They should work analytically and independently, speak Dutch and English well, and already live in the Netherlands or near the border.
