Job Description

About the job Most solution architect roles are glorified presentation decks: drawing boxes in PowerPoint, sitting through endless committee meetings, and pushing paper while real implementation stalls. This is not that. We are looking for a Senior Solution Architect who thinks like a system builder and treats enterprise architecture like the actionable, production-grade strategy it is. Clear handshakes, modular capabilities, scalable data flows, and pragmatic roadmaps. If you have ever looked at a fragmented web of legacy platforms held together by ad-hoc domain fixes and thought this needs a unified, end-to-end target state, we should talk. At Sytac you work inside the core digital platforms that run some of the Netherlands largest enterprises. Real scale, complex domain handshakes, real ownership. For this temporary assignment (approx. 6 months), you will join the Engineering Reliability architecture team to spearhead the target solution architecture and implementation roadmap for internal digital product consumption. You’ll sit right at the center of COO strategy, technology, and financial operating models—with the autonomy to design it right for the long haul. What you'll do Design the integrated end-to-end solution: Cover the entire product consumption lifecycle from forecasting, pricing, and consumer-provider handshakes to digital contracting, ordering, consumption, charging, and invoicing. Translate strategic operating models into architecture: Turn Product-Led Thinking and the Financial Operating Model into a coherent, highly scalable solution architecture. Define systemic data integrations: Map business processes, information flows, and cross-system interactions across core platforms, including ServiceNow, Pega, Sakura, ICS Portal, and financial/cost management systems. Establish single cross-domain direction: Lead architectural discussions across distributed domains, aligning senior domain architects and stakeholders with competing priorities away from local optimization toward end-to-end integration. Challenge assumptions constructively: Question existing choices and domain preferences wherever they hinder simplification, scalability, or seamless consumption. Drive convergence clear decisions: Formulate trade-offs, drive alignment, and escalate decisively when consensus cannot be achieved. Build a pragmatic transition roadmap: Identify dependencies, constraints, and architecture gaps to map out a realistic, step-by-step implementation plan. What we're looking for You think like an enterprise system builder first and a domain specialist second. Unified, scalable, end-to-end integration is your default, not an aspiration. 10+ years of experience as a Lead or Senior Solution Architect in a complex, large-scale enterprise environment. Core Architecture Toolkit: Proven track record designing cross-domain solutions across business, process (BPMN), and information architectures, backed by enterprise landscape analysis and formal Architecture Decision Records (ADRs). Enterprise Platform Knowledge: Practical experience integrating platforms like ServiceNow (SPM/APM), Pega, internal developer/service portals, and IT financial management systems. IT Financial & Consumption Mechanics: Solid understanding of digital product consumption, metering, pricing, internal chargeback/showback models, TCO, or frameworks like TBM or FinOps. Senior Facilitation & Stakeholder Alignment: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-domain architecture forums, challenge legacy assumptions constructively, and bring strong-minded stakeholders to a single outcome. Executive Decisioning: Excellent presentation and communication skills—you translate complex technical trade-offs into clear choices, risks, and recommendations for senior leadership. Strong English skills. NL residency required (location: Amsterdam-Zuidoost / Hybrid). Expats already living and working in the Netherlands are very welcome. We are not offering relocation for this role. Nice to have (genuinely nice, not secretly required) Hands-on exposure to Product-Led Thinking, digital product operating models, or IT-as-a-Product implementation. Direct experience with technology financial flows: forecasting, pricing, internal charging, cost allocation, TCO, or TBM/FinOps certification. Deep platform expertise with ServiceNow, Pega, or specialized IT financial and cost-management solutions. Experience navigating large financial institutions or similarly complex, highly regulated international organizations.
