In your role as a Junior Data Scientist you will be working in the Merchandising and Sourcing domain within our Data Science & Analytics department. There are many exciting ongoing and upcoming projects in the Merchandising & Sourcing domain. In these projects you will build AI products that help category managers and Retail Specialists to do their day-to-day jobs. You could for example help further shape an algorithm that decides which products earn a place on every meter of shelf in every one of our stores. Or you could sharpen the model that decides how much space each category gets, so every store reflects what customers actually want. We work closely with category managers, engineers and analysts and others in the organization to deliver value for millions of customers every single day. What will my daily work look like? While you will hone your craft in your day-to-day work, you will also have the opportunity to shape our way of working within the team and facilitate knowledge sharing across the organization. As Junior Data Scientist (Merchandising and Sourcing) at AH Technology you: Build data science products and design experiments to test and validate their effectiveness Continuously improve model performance following CI/CD best practices Convey complex ideas to different audiences in an effective manner Join the Data Science Team during scrum rituals and work together to write code Work in multidisciplinary product teams and closely to our business stakeholders The recipe for maximum impact: At AH Technology, you'll be working for one of the world's biggest retailers, and we know you are bursting with the ambition to keep up with us. You supplement this ambition with: A Master in Data Science, Econometrics, Computer Science or other relevant studies. If no relevant study, demonstrably relevant experience and interest At least 2 years of experience as Data Scientist, preferably within an eCommerce environment The ability to explain complex matter in an effective way to varied audiences Advanced experience in Python and Spark Experience in productionizing maintainable solutions based on Packages instead of Notebooks Experience in Cloud Platforms, Microsoft Azure Databricks and visualization tools are a big plus You are based in The Netherlands What we offer: At Albert Heijn we aim to grow, and this is only possible if you grow along with us. Core Responsibilities

Requirements

A relevant master's degree or demonstrably relevant experience and interest is requested, along with at least two years of data scientist experience, preferably in e-commerce. Candidates should have advanced Python and Spark experience, be able to explain complex topics clearly, and have experience productionizing maintainable package-based solutions; cloud platforms, Azure Databricks, and visualization tools are advantageous.
