Home Departments Human Resources Employment Opportunities Human Resources Specialist (May be filled at the HR Generalist level) Human Resources Specialist (May be filled at the HR Generalist level) Chaffee County is recruiting for one Human Resources position, which may be filled at the HR Specialist or HR Generalist level based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and demonstrated experience. Candidates who meet the HR Generalist minimum qualifications, including experience independently administering employee leaves of absence, interpreting and applying employment policies, and providing guidance to employees and supervisors on HR processes, may be considered for placement at the Generalist level, which carries greater responsibility and independence. The HR Specialist coordinates and administers HR programs and services across the employee life cycle, from recruitment and onboarding through ongoing employment and separation. The position also provides payroll support and assists with accounting tasks. As part of a small HR department, the HR Specialist responds to employee and supervisor inquiries, adapts to changing priorities throughout the day, and keeps recurring deadlines and projects on track. The HR Generalist performs the core duties of the HR Specialist with greater responsibility and independence, including administering employee leaves of absence, interpreting and applying County policies, and providing guidance to employees and supervisors on HR processes and procedures. The HR Specialist is a full-time hourly position with a wage range of $26.02 to $32.53, DOQ. The HR Generalist is a full time hourly position with a wage range of $28.62 to $35.78, DOQ. Core Responsibilities

At the Generalist level, independently administer employee leaves, interpret and apply County policies, and guide employees and supervisors on HR processes and procedures.

The position level depends on the candidate’s qualifications and demonstrated experience. Generalist-level consideration requires experience independently administering employee leaves of absence, interpreting and applying employment policies, and advising employees and supervisors on HR processes.
