Job Description

Job Overview The Legal Affairs Specialist is responsible for managing the day-to-day legal affairs of Samyang Foods Europe and its European subsidiaries. Acting as an internal legal business partner, you will provide practical legal guidance to departments including Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, Procurement, and Management. You will draft, review, negotiate, and manage a broad range of commercial agreements while coordinating specialized legal matters with external law firms when required. The role requires balancing legal risk with business objectives and ensuring that the company operates in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law (LLB/LLM) or a related legal discipline 3–5 years of legal experience in-house or in private practice Experience supporting commercial businesses in an international environment Experience within FMCG, food manufacturing, retail, or consumer goods is strongly preferred Experience working with cross-border contracts and European legal matters Experience managing external legal counsel Strong knowledge of commercial contract law Solid understanding of employment law Familiarity with European corporate governance principles Knowledge of GDPR and privacy legislation Understanding of compliance and internal control frameworks Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Dutch is highly preferred Competencies Business-oriented mindset High ethical standards and integrity Strong attention to detail Sound judgment and decision-making Excellent communication skills Confident negotiator Proactive and solution-oriented Collaborative team player Able to manage confidential information with discretion Strong planning and organizational skills Key Responsibilities Commercial Contracts Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide variety of commercial agreements Review customer sales agreements and framework contracts Prepare and negotiate supplier and vendor contracts Support procurement with purchasing agreements Review logistics and warehousing agreements Draft service agreements, consultancy agreements, NDAs, and confidentiality agreements Maintain and administer the company's contract management system Monitor contract renewals, notice periods, and contractual obligations Employment & HR Legal Support Support HR with employment agreements and contract amendments Review employment policies and procedures Advise on Dutch and European employment legislation Support disciplinary procedures, performance management, and termination processes Coordinate with external employment lawyers on complex matters Assist with employee disputes and legal correspondence Corporate Legal Affairs Support the establishment and maintenance of European legal entities Assist with corporate governance requirements Maintain legal documentation and statutory records Coordinate board resolutions and shareholder documentation where required Support management with legal documentation related to company operations Legal Risk & Compliance Identify and assess legal risks across the business Provide practical legal advice to business stakeholders Ensure contracts comply with company policies and applicable legislation Support implementation of internal control and governance procedures Assist with compliance initiatives, including competition law, anti-bribery, sanctions, whistleblowing, and corporate governance requirements Support GDPR and privacy-related matters together with external specialists where required FMCG & Regulatory Support Support business teams with legal matters relating to the FMCG industry Coordinate legal review of product claims and marketing materials where necessary Assist with legal aspects of product launches Support regulatory compliance activities together with Quality Assurance and external legal advisors Coordinate with specialists regarding food law, labelling requirements, import regulations, and product liability matters External Legal Counsel Management Act as the primary liaison with external legal firms across Europe Determine when specialist legal advice is required Coordinate legal projects with external counsel Manage legal budgets and monitor external legal costs Ensure timely follow-up on legal matters Dispute Management Support resolution of commercial disputes Coordinate debt recovery matters with external counsel Assist in handling claims and litigation Maintain documentation related to disputes and settlements Support insurance-related legal matters Training & Policy Development Develop and maintain legal templates Prepare standard contract templates Draft and update internal policies and procedures Deliver legal awareness training to business teams Promote legal compliance throughout the organization What We Offer A salary that ranges between €3,400 and €4,750 gross per month Pension plan Commuting benefit Vitality Benefit (€50 a month) Lease Bike Option 25 days of paid time off Company laptop & phone Free Accident & WIA Gap insurance Great office location in the centre of Amstelveen An international team of highly skilled colleagues Salary 3400 - 4750 EUR (monthly)

Requirements

Requires a bachelor's or master's degree in law or a related legal discipline and 3–5 years of legal experience, preferably supporting an international commercial business in FMCG, food manufacturing, retail, or consumer goods. Candidates should have strong commercial contract law knowledge, employment law and European legal familiarity, GDPR and compliance awareness, fluent English, and preferably Dutch.
