Reliability & Maintenance Engineer | DSL-01 As Reliability & Maintenance Engineer DSL-01, you are responsible for building and continuously improving the facility's maintenance, reliability, and asset integrity framework. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you help ensure the plant operates safely, reliably, and efficiently. The role starts with a strong Maintenance Engineering focus. Your priority will be to help establish the maintenance and reliability foundation of DSL-01 by answering a fundamental question: "how do we maintain our assets safely, reliably, and efficiently throughout their lifecycle?" You will translate reliability studies, equipment criticality assessments, and integrity requirements into practical maintenance plans, inspection programmes, spare parts strategies, and asset management processes. As the facility moves into stable operations, the focus gradually shifts towards Reliability Engineering, where you will use asset health monitoring, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement to prevent failures and improve long-term asset performance. Working closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, and external specialists, you will help reduce technical risk and improve asset reliability from day one. You will: Develop and continuously improve maintenance, inspection, and asset integrity strategies Translate reliability studies, FMECA analyses, and engineering data into practical maintenance plans within the CMMS/EAM system Act as owner of the asset register from a maintenance, reliability, and integrity perspective Support the implementation and continuous development of the facility's CMMS/EAM system Drive reliability improvements through asset health monitoring, KPI analysis, and predictive maintenance techniques Lead Root Cause Analyses (RCA) and implement sustainable corrective actions Monitor and improve reliability performance indicators such as MTBF, MTTR, availability, and inspection compliance Support asset improvement, modification, and long-term replacement strategies throughout the asset lifecycle Your profile As a growing company in a rapidly evolving industry, we are looking for people who embrace change and are motivated to actively contribute to building and scaling our business. You recognize yourself in the following: Must have Fluent in Dutch and English Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline (i.e. electrical or mechanical) 5+ years of experience in Reliability Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, Asset Integrity, or Asset Management Experience with RCM, FMEA/FMECA, RCA, and maintenance strategy development Experience with CMMS/EAM systems such as SAP PM, Maximo, or IFS Preferred Experience in chemical, petrochemical, energy, or other process industries like food or FMCG Experience with CMMS/EAM implementation or optimisation Experience with predictive maintenance and condition monitoring Knowledge of ATEX, PED, and asset integrity management About DSL-01 DSL-01 is SkyNRG’s frontrunning renewable fuels facility in Delfzijl, Netherlands. The plant will produce Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) from residual fats and greases using the HEFA (Hydrotreated Esters and Fatty Acids) pathway, with additional renewable products like butane, propane, and naphtha as by-products. DSL-01 is the first facility in Europe dedicated entirely to SAF and its by-products. Once operational, it will produce 100,000 tonnes of SAF and 35,000 tonnes of sustainable by-products per year, cutting greenhouse gas emissions by around 80% compared to conventional jet fuel. Construction started in 2026, with first fuel expected in 2028. The project includes the main facility, pipelines, and temporary work areas. Requirements
Requires fluency in Dutch and English, a bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline, and at least five years of relevant experience in reliability, maintenance, asset integrity, or asset management. Candidates must have experience with RCM, FMEA/FMECA, RCA, maintenance strategy development, and CMMS/EAM systems; process-industry experience, system implementation or optimization, predictive maintenance, condition monitoring, and knowledge of ATEX and PED are preferred.
