Key Skills
Job Description
Help us tell the story of our work in Liberia and grow our community! Mineke Foundation works in Liberia and our communications in the Netherlands and beyond are run by volunteers. We are looking for someone to take ownership of our Mineke Foundation Facebook page, grow our audience and help us build a clear, consistent voice across all our channels. What you'll do Manage our Mineke Foundation Facebook page: plan and schedule posts, and grow and engage our audience. Run paid social media campaigns when we need them for specific pushes, such as school recruitment or vocational training sign-ups. Work closely with our team in Liberia, our blog and newsletter volunteers and our LinkedIn volunteer, so that our communications tell one cohesive story. Create posts, cards and simple campaign materials (for example in Canva). We have examples available that you can build on. Work according to our existing content calendar and programme themes, and help us develop our communications line further if you'd like to. Who we're looking for Real experience managing social media for an organisation, including hands-on experience with Meta Ads Manager (not just boosting posts). A feel for storytelling and for growing and engaging an online community. Comfortable creating basic graphic materials and templates in Canva or a similar tool. Willing to put in the time to get to know us and our work. Comfortable working independently, taking initiative and communicating proactively, including reaching out to our team in Liberia. Reliable and willing to volunteer for at least 6 months. Fluent English; Dutch is a welcome bonus. How to apply Tell us briefly how you would grow the audience and engagement of a small nonprofit's Facebook page, and share one example of a social media campaign or page you have managed (with results, if you have them). Send this along with your CV to info [at] minekefoundation.org. Please note: we cannot move forward with your application if we don't receive this. About Mineke Foundation
Industry: Non-profit Organizations
Company size: 11-50 employees
Mineke Foundation works in Liberia. Our goal is to help people - especially young people and women - to become economically self-reliant. We focus on education and entrepreneurship and have three projects: Damiefa School offers affordable private education from nursery through secondary school. The national Liberian curriculum is complemented by an Art education programme developed by Dutch and American educators and Liberia Reads!, a Reading comprehension programme developed for Liberia by American and Liberian educators. Our Women's Club combines entrepreneurship and gender. Our entrepreneurship programme includes skills & business training, coaching, micro-loans and a savings scheme. Our gender programme addresses topics like (reproductive) health, women's rights, leadership and gender-based violence. It also offers social activities to build community. Our Resource Center (in development) is a multipurpose facility with a small library, computer lab and play area. It currently has 2 main user groups: Damiefa School students and youth aged 15 - 30. Mineke Foundation is an award-winning NGO known for its quality and professionalism. We are a fully-accredited Liberian NGO, vocational training institute and private school. A small, committed and motivated local team manages our work in Liberia. Our work is supported by a team of remote international volunteers who help with fundraising, social media & communication and knowledge transfer. Both teams work closely together. Mineke Foundation was founded in 2009 by Tonia Dabwe to build on the work her Liberian father and Dutch mother started in Liberia in the late 1960s. The NGO is named after Tonia's mother who was abducted by Charles Taylor's NPFL rebels during the Liberian civil war. She remains missing.
