You combine hands-on financial execution with building the processes, controls and reporting structure needed for the next stage of growth. Job description As Head of Finance, you own the finance function from A to Z and report directly to the CEO. This is a hands-on role in which you combine operational finance with financial planning, reporting, process improvement and business support. You will personally manage the month-end close, accounts payable and receivable, cash forecasting, reporting and financial administration. At the same time, you will build the processes and controls that are needed as the organisation grows. You will also work closely with the CEO, board and external advisers and provide reliable financial information for decision-making. As the company grows, you will have the opportunity to shape and lead the future finance team. Tasks and responsibilities Own the month-end close. Prepare the monthly financial forecasting and reporting pack covering P&L, balance sheet, cash, margins and budget versus actuals, including clear commentary. Manage accounts receivable, and further develop the order-to-cash process. Develop and maintain accounting policies covering areas such as revenue recognition, inventory, warranty and capitalised development. Take responsibility for inventory accounting, and cost tracking, identifying overruns at an early stage. Manage accounts payable, including expenses. Coordinate tax, statutory filings and audit readiness together with external advisers. Contribute to monthly board reporting. Manage external partners for payroll, pensions and other administrative services. First point of contact for personnel administrative matters, such as sick leave reporting. Requirements A completed higher professional or university degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a comparable field. At least 5 years of relevant finance experience, including experience as the senior finance professional for an entity, site or business unit. Legally authorised to work in the Netherlands without requiring sponsorship. Willing and able to work on site at least three days per week. Fluent in English, Dutch is an advantage. Knowledge of Dutch GAAP and Dutch statutory requirements, including VAT, corporate income tax and statutory filings. Experience within a company with hybrid SaaS and hardware business model delivery, including hands-on inventory accounting is an advantage. Experience in a start-up or small organisation where processes and structures still needed to be built is an advantage. Experience using Odoo is an advantage. Terms of employment Salary: €80.000 to €90.000 depending on experience, based on 40 hours per week (including holiday pay). Bonus: up to 5%, based on company results and personal performance. Holidays: 25. Pension: Excellent pension scheme. Hybrid working: Flexible working from home but at least three times a week, on site, in Arnhem. Company profile Headquartered in Arnhem, Nexus Grid is a technology company providing AI-powered grid intelligence and monitoring solutions for medium-voltage electricity networks. About Nexus Grid - a DNV Company

Industry: Electric Power Transmission, Control, and Distribution

Company size: 11-50 employees

The way grid operators manage underground assets hasn't fundamentally changed in decades. Investment decisions made on age tables. Faults discovered after they happen. Capacity left stranded in cables that could carry more. Nexus Grid, a DNV company, is changing that. We give utilities, DSOs and critical infrastructure operators real-time intelligence across their medium-voltage networks — so asset managers know where to intervene before failure, finance directors can defend every CapEx decision with data, and operations teams stop firefighting and start planning. 3,320+ systems deployed. 8,600+ km monitored. 15+ years of engineering rigour behind every insight. The grid intelligence platform for operators who can't afford to guess.
