Internship assignment: Digital modelling
Key Skills
Job Description
What Do We Offer Work on automation projects with impact around the world. Learn from experienced colleagues and take on responsibility from day one. Develop your skills and discover where your strengths lie. Opportunities to continue your career at AWL after your internship, graduation project or traineeship. What Do We Expect Education level: B.S degree (or higher) inelectronic, mechatronic or IT engineering. Divide a challenge into separate challenges to isolate and overcome them. Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Oral and written communication skills are crucial, as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, design according and challenge technical requirements. Affinity with software. About This Vacancy To meet the needs of industry, machines are becoming increasingly complex. As a direct consequence, more specialised disciplines are emerging and all of which need to collaborate and communicate effectively. The process of building a machine is therefore dynamic and must be carefully managed. At the same time, this provides an opportunity to continuously review and further optimise the process. One of the improvements we want to implement at AWL is the use of virtual commissioning. With virtual commissioning, we aim to use a digital model to test software that would normally only be tested once the physical machine has been built. By carrying out these tests at a much earlier stage, many software errors can be detected at a point in the process when changes can still be made relatively easily. The main challenge is that building a digital model requires several conditions. It must be built quickly within a specific time, while accurately reproducing the behaviour of the machine in the real world. Having built machines for more than 30 years, we have accumulated a wealth of knowledge and data. At the same time, AI is developing rapidly. How can AI help us build faster digital models and connecting the behaviour? Application process Your application Great that you’ve applied! We’ll review your application carefully and get back to you within a week. First interview You’ll meet with a recruiter and/or hiring manager to discuss your experience, motivation, and the role. The next interview A deeper conversation with the team about the (technical) aspects of the role and how you would collaborate day to day. The assessment Depending on the role, we may include a practical or skills assessment. The offer When it’s a match, we’ll share an offer and walk you through next steps to join AWL.
Core Responsibilities
Develop digital models of machines to support virtual commissioning and enable software testing before physical machines are built. Explore how AI and accumulated machine knowledge and data can help create accurate digital models more quickly.
Requirements
A bachelor's degree or higher in electronic, mechatronic, or IT engineering is expected, along with an affinity for software. Candidates should be able to break challenges into manageable parts, handle competing priorities, communicate effectively, analyze quantitatively, solve problems, and design to technical requirements.
Benefits
- Career Development Opportunities
- Learning From Experienced Colleagues
- Early Responsibility
