Job Description
Senior KYC Analyst Location: Amsterdam Hours: 40 hours per week Start date: As soon as possible Duration: 3 months, with an option to extend Way of working: Hybrid (3 days in the office, 2 days from home) Working language: English Salary: €5,000 - €5,500 gross per month based on 40 hours (excluding holiday allowance), depending on your experience Do you want to do KYC work where your own judgement counts, not the checklist? For a payment service provider that is part of an international financial services group, we are looking for two Senior KYC Analysts. The KYC team needs experienced analysts at short notice who can work independently from day one. The team works risk-based. This means you do not follow a fixed workflow. For each client, you determine where the risks lie and what that means for the file. What will you do? You independently assess merchants: the businesses that accept payments through the payment service provider. The portfolio is diverse. Think of a bakery with a single terminal, a web shop, or a holding with an online gaming licence abroad. Your activities include: Conducting KYC and CDD reviews on new and existing clients. Analysing business models: what does the business do, who is behind it, where does the money come from and do the transaction volumes match the story? Independently setting the risk rating and deciding how deep your review needs to go. Weighing considerations and drawing conclusions, also when a file does not fit a standard pattern. Documenting your risk rating, conclusion and reasoning, so that a colleague can follow your assessment. Escalating files that do not add up, with reasoning that holds. Your onboarding takes about three days, in which you work through cases together with colleagues. After that, you work independently. You usually handle straightforward files on your own within a week, and as a senior often sooner. What do you bring? You are analytical, independent and comfortable taking ownership. You need little guidance and become productive quickly. In addition, you have: At least 5 years of experience in KYC and CDD reviews, part of it at senior level. Preferably 5 to 7 years or more. Experience in a risk-based KYC environment, in which you identify and assess risks independently. The ability to understand business models and draw your own conclusions from them. Good command of English: you write conclusions that a compliance officer in another country can act on directly. Dutch is not required. Availability at short notice. Nice to have Experience at a payment service provider, acquirer or other payment institution. Experience with online gaming clients. Experience with different client segments. Experience outside the large banks. Good to know You join a small, close-knit KYC team of four analysts, most of whom have been in the team for years. There is a lot of knowledge to fall back on. The atmosphere is informal and you get a lot of freedom and responsibility. The assignment initially runs for three months. Extension is possible, a permanent position with the client is not expected in the short term. This role suits an experienced KYC professional who prefers to think about risk independently rather than follow a fixed checklist. You get a varied client portfolio and the room to apply your own professional judgement from the start. Recognise yourself in this? Apply directly with or sent your CV and availability to [email protected] and I will get back to you quickly.
Core Responsibilities

Applicants need at least five years of KYC and CDD review experience, including some senior-level experience, and experience independently assessing risk in a risk-based KYC environment. They must be analytical, able to interpret business models and write clear conclusions in English, and available at short notice; Dutch is not required.
