About the role: This role combines ownership of Serrala's established compliance framework with broader legal responsibilities, including contract negotiations, legal advisory, ESG initiatives, and support for commercial business activities. Your Day to Day: Monitor and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for a global provider of cash and payment solutions. Advise management and business stakeholders on compliance and general legal matters. Review and negotiate customer contracts, particularly regarding regulatory and commercial obligations. Support customer tenders (RFPs/RFQs) and maintain compliance-related documentation. Identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks, and further develop policies and processes. Deliver training and raise awareness on compliance topics across the organisation. Support audits, compliance reviews, and certifications (ISO, SOC 2). Lead ESG-related activities, including reporting, sustainability initiatives, and communication with authorities and external stakeholders. What makes you excel in this position: Fully qualified lawyer with a degree in Law, Business Law, or a comparable field. Professional experience in compliance and general commercial legal matters, ideally in an international environment. Experience reviewing and negotiating customer contracts and advising business stakeholders on legal topics. Broad understanding of relevant Dutch, German, and European regulatory requirements. Strong analytical skills, business judgement, and a pragmatic, hands-on approach. Languages: Dutch (C2) and English (C1/C2); German skills (B2) are an advantage. Core Responsibilities
Manage and develop the company’s compliance framework, advise management and business stakeholders on legal and compliance matters, and review and negotiate customer contracts. Support tenders, audits, reviews, and certifications, while leading ESG reporting, sustainability initiatives, and related stakeholder communications.
Requirements
Requires a fully qualified lawyer with a degree in Law, Business Law, or a comparable field, plus professional experience in compliance and commercial legal matters, ideally in an international environment. Candidates should understand Dutch, German, and European regulatory requirements, have strong analytical and business judgment, and speak Dutch at C2 and English at C1/C2; German at B2 is an advantage.
