We've worked with more than 200 news outlets around the world from leading international broadcasters to innovative metro newsrooms and content creators on ground-breaking public interest stories. Our team, which includes data scientists, visual investigators, impact producers and money trails experts is a sought-after partner for some of the most complex and important journalism collaborations out there. We work across formats from documentary to radio, podcasts, print, socials and other creative formats. Lighthouse is looking for a full-time Social Media Manager to help build Lighthouse's social media presence in a way that improves the trust and reach of public interest investigative work. You'll be responsible for content creation and execution across platforms while building and managing relationships with social-media first partners. The Social Media Manger will be part of the impact team, collaborating with colleagues across the organisation to ensure social content supports Lighthouse's wider goals of engagement and real-world impact If AI tools are used in the preparation of this application, please describe how you used them. Responsibilities Manage day-to-day social media strategy and execution across platforms Produce and edit a diverse range of social-first video and visual content from concept to delivery - including behind-the-scenes content, methodology explainers, and investigation coverage Work as part of the impact team to align social strategy with each investigation's audience and impact goals, and sharing audience insights that inform how our work is released and promoted. Build Lighthouse's audience and manage the community: help define and engage it, engage in comments and replies and community conversation in a way that breaks down investigative findings and builds connection and trust Research and identify potential new content creator partners and develop ideas for building and deepening those networks Manage and maintain relationships with creator partners Track, analyse, and report on social media performance and audience growth metrics Requirements 3-5 years of experience in video editing and social media management Video editing and graphic design skills Strong editorial and instincts - knowing what makes content land on socials Experience collaborating with creators and influencers Knack for spotting new partnership opportunities Comfortable working independently and juggling multiple projects and content needs Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, fluency in a second language is a plus Benefits 25 paid vacation days plus, national holidays Remote or hybrid work set up depending on location Macbook or similar laptop Support for trainings and to attend conferences and events
Core Responsibilities
Manage Lighthouse Reports’ social media strategy and create and edit social-first video and visual content across platforms. Grow and engage the audience, develop creator partnerships, align social activity with investigations’ impact goals, and report on performance and audience growth.
Requirements
Candidates should have 3–5 years of experience in video editing and social media management, along with video editing and graphic design skills and strong editorial judgment. Experience working with creators or influencers, partnership development, independent project management, and excellent English communication skills are also required; a second language is a plus.
