Job Description
You will lead the Accounting Operations team for Central Europe on a daily basis. You analyse suspense accounts and settle debtor and creditor topics, oversee the VAT and statistics processes, and ensure all deadlines are met. You are a hands-on leader who keeps oversight in a busy environment and enjoys improving ways of working. This role is also a great next step for an accounting professional who is ready to develop into a leadership position. You report to the Manager Accounting Operations. The role is based in Sittard, with the possibility to work from home for up to one day per week. You actively: Lead and coach the team in its daily activities, allocate and prioritize work,and motivate and develop team members to perform at their full potential. Conduct periodic performance reviews with each direct report. Provide first approval of bank payments. Provide hands-on operational support during peak periods. Ensure smooth cooperation within and across teams, both in your own department and throughout Boels. Drive and implement operational improvements within Central Europe to increase efficiency. Provide input to IT regarding the IT solutions in use by Financial Accounting. Act as point of contact for auditors and government institutions. For your team you ensure: Correct and timely processing of the daily bank statements and the suspense accounts. Monthly reporting of cash discrepancies and the signaling of possible fraud cases related to cash and suspense accounts. Timely execution of the regional payment process. High-quality balance sheet reconciliations. Timely and accurate preparation and delivery of VAT and other administrative statements and statistics, meeting all deadlines. What You Bring At least a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline. 1-3 years of relevant experience in an accounting function, preferably in an international environment. Solid knowledge of accounting principles, including VAT and other administrative statements and statistics. People management, coaching, and stakeholder management skills. Experience with process improvement and project management. A hands-on, proactive attitude and the ability to perform under pressure. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Experience with MS Office and ERP systems, preferably SAP. Affinity with IT systems and innovation. Requirements
A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline and 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience are required. Candidates should have knowledge of accounting principles, VAT and administrative reporting, people and stakeholder management, process improvement, ERP systems (preferably SAP), and strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
