The facility consists of small and integrated Research, Development and Manufacturing teams that have strong track records. We are searching for the best talent for Sr. R&D Scientist for our JnJ Surgical Vision located in Groningen, Netherlands. Purpose: The Sr. R&D Scientist may be responsible for entire projects or processes within a job area, and is involved in the design, execution, and/or reporting of clinical trials and or studies. You Will Be Responsible For Participate in the development of new concepts for unique medical devices from ideation to market phase. Support and participate in design and development of new intraocular lenses and new optical metrology for testing intraocular lenses. Develop test methods and validation systems to characterize new and existing intraocular lenses. Support requirements development, documentation of design, writing and execution of protocols and reports. Stay current with the status of competitive products, with cutting-edge medical device industry and with technological trends to ensure innovative product design. Investigate and evaluate existing technologies. You will contribute to multi-disciplinary research teams and will be responsible for conducting independent research tasks with European research institutes. Work closely within a cross-functional team, with senior research staff, and also with research institutes and R&D groups in USA. Qualifications / Requirements BS/MS/PhD in Optics, Physics or Vision Science Preferably 3 or more years of relevant experience Proficient in optical design principles, using Zemax, OSLO or other design tools to design and simulate optical systems Demonstrated research experience and interest in technology development Required Skills Preferred Skills: Analytical Reasoning, Clinical Data Management, Communication, Data Analysis, Data Compilation, Data Savvy, Design of Experiments (DOE), Drug Discovery Development, Innovation, Molecular Diagnostics, Pharmaceutical Microbiology, Product Knowledge, Project Management, Scientific Research, Technologically Savvy The Anticipated Base Pay Range For This Position Is €53,500.00 - €85,445.00 Benefits In addition to base pay, we offer the following benefits*: an annual bonus with set target (% of pay) depending on pay grade / location, where the actual amount is based on the employees’ and companies’ performance of the previous calendar year, or sales commissions. Core Responsibilities

Requirements

A bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in Optics, Physics, or Vision Science is required, with three or more years of relevant experience preferred. Candidates should be proficient in optical design tools such as Zemax or OSLO and have demonstrated research experience and an interest in technology development.
