Embedded Software Engineer
Key Skills
Job Description
Planck Dynamics is searching for a junior/medior engineer who likes to tinker, learn new things and execute at lightning speed in the field of photonics (reservoir computing) and multi-modal AI for the defense industry. We are looking for someone with a broad interest, from microcontrollers to cloud, but more importantly is able to adapt, learn and converge to a solution without having clear requirements. If you think you're a fit, send an email to [email protected] with your motivation and CV.
Core Responsibilities
Work on photonics, including reservoir computing, and multimodal AI projects for the defense industry. Adapt to unclear requirements, learn quickly, and execute rapidly toward practical solutions.
Requirements
The role is aimed at a junior- to mid-level engineer with broad interests spanning microcontrollers to cloud computing. Candidates should enjoy tinkering and be able to adapt, learn, and converge on solutions without clearly defined requirements.
About Planck Dynamics
Industry: Defense and Space Manufacturing
Company size: 2-10 employees
Planck Dynamics puts split-second, trustworthy AI in the hands of the units at the tactical edge. Decisions at the tactical edge are made in seconds, increasingly against adversaries using AI to decide faster, and often with no link back to a data centre. We built RAPTR (Rapid Action Platform for Theater Resolution) to change that. RAPTR is a ruggedised tactical edge computing platform that brings together edge data governance, a certified AI runtime, and quantum-inspired photonic compute in a single unit. It delivers the equivalent of roughly 10,000 neural-network nodes at microsecond latency, computed at the edge, at a fraction of the heat, power, and signature of a GPU edge box. It runs where other tactical AI cannot, keeps a unit's data where an adversary cannot reach it, and amplifies the operator's training and instinct rather than overriding their judgement. The result is a hyper-enabled operator and a sustained, asymmetric advantage, for mounted land forces, special forces, border protection, and tactical intelligence units. Planck Dynamics is built inside TU Delft's House of Quantum and backed by NUNC Capital. We are working towards a TRL-6 demonstrator of RAPTR in 2026, with the Netherlands as our first market and expansion across NATO allies to follow.
