Job Description

Job Description Pediatric patients need medicines dosed precisely for their age and weight, yet many drugs are only available in adult formulations. Healthcare professionals often have to split tablets, open capsules or dissolve part of their contents, a practice that risks inaccurate dosing. In this project, you contribute to 3D-printed tablets and oral films that can deliver the exact dose a child needs. Your tasks include: Produce 3D-printed tablets and oral films using our 3D printer. Analyze the printed formulations in the laboratory, including dissolution speed and active ingredient content. Develop skills in pharmaceutical formulation, quality control and analytical techniques. Write a research report describing the full development process, from formulation design to laboratory analysis. Contribute, depending on your results, to a scientific publication.

Core Responsibilities

Produce 3D-printed tablets and oral films, then analyze the formulations in the laboratory for dissolution speed and active ingredient content. Document the development process in a research report and potentially contribute to a scientific publication.

Requirements

The posting does not specify formal education, experience, or other entry requirements. The internship involves developing skills in pharmaceutical formulation, quality control, and analytical techniques.

About Erasmus MC-Klinische Chemie

Industry: Research Services

Company size: 51-200 employees
